Calzaghe's defense streak vs. Bernard's defense streak?

    What do you guys think?

Sure you have to give the clear nod to Bernard and his streak but are they really that far apart in terms of accomplishment? What would it take for Joe to surpass the Junk Yard Dog?

**** the belts, the fighter makes the belt not the three letters right?

Calzaghe is looking for his 19th straight defense...and yet you dont hear a lot of talk surrounding this accomplishment where as Bernard's streak was always the first thing out of everyones mouth.

Both men have a resume litered with ****ty number #1 ranked contenders that...Im curious to hear how some rank Calzaghe's defense streak at 168 to Bernard's defense streak at 160.

    Give it to me bitches!

hopkins's was better, he unified all 4 belts instead of 2 and he beat better fighters, although neither division was that strong.

people yap about tito being so much smaller, but tito was very big at welterweight and fought at 154 even in 1997, so the size difference wasn't that much, plus tito had destroyed the 2nd best 160 lb fighter in the world before hopkins schooled him.

furthermore, tito is a great while the best fighters calzaghe has beaten were a fading eubank, and jeff lacy.

Hopkins had an overall better record, but it seems very possible that Calzaghe will have a better record when he retires. Say after Woods he fights and beats Kessler and then someone like Adamek. I'd say fighting those fighters would give Joe a record better than Hopkins,

However, Hopking streak of defences is probably better.

I say the names are better, and not the wins, because the 2 best names on his record were natural lightweight and welter.

The other better name he lost to.

But he did rule a mediocre division, and was unificated champion, Calzaghe still isn't the ruler of the division.. yet.

As of right now, Hopkins has a better record, but if Calzaghe's plans prevail then things might change.

oscar was no natural lightweight. de la hoya, along with gatti, was the biggest jr. lightweight/lightweight ever.

tito, who was a big welter, had dominated the 2nd best middleweight in the world prior to getting dominated by hopkins.

joppy had the wba title, and was probably better than holmes. who was the 2nd best middle in the world if not joppy?

hopkins dominated both holmes and trinidad, and later joppy.

Cant disagree with just about anything anyone is saying but do keep in mind it took Bernard a long long time to unify the titles, its not like he had 15 title defenses as the undisputed champ...he held what could be considered a paper title for a long time.
