Yea tito lost twice and all twice was 1 sided beating. Oscar losses was either controversy or close fights.

Does that answer your question? many people keep saying oscar beat a shot chavez but was chavez really shot? wasn't chavez the number 1 man at the junior welterweight division before oscar destroy him?. Oscar has face the chavez, whittaker, quartey, james, hopkins, mosley, camacho, vargas, gonzalez.

Trinidad, to much controversy in Oscars career. He should have lost to Molina,Whitaker,Quartey, and Sturm. All wins he didnt deserve. Plus the fact that he beat Sturm for a middleweight belt which concluded his 6 weight division titles, he didnt deserve that title.

De La Hoya fought all of Tito's leftovers after Tito KOd them.
Tito beat De La Hoya. like it or not, lets not get into a debate please.
          Tito has a better record.
Tito beat 2 olympic gold medalists back to back in 2 weight divisions.
just look up Tito on boxingrec and check out the record of his opponents.

IMHO Trinidad has the better legacy. He KO'd a prime Vargas. DLH beat a softened up Vargas courtesy of Trinidad. Trinidad never lost in the WW and SW divisions DLH lost twice in the WW (against Trinidad and Shane Mosley) division and once again in the SW division (again against Shane Mosley). Trinidad unified the WW division and the SW division DLH did not. Trinidad won a legitimate MW title and tried to unify the MW division. Trinidad was knocked out after 12 rounds (and got up before the 10 count it was his dad who came in to stop the fight) with a younger Hopkins. DLH was knocked out in the 9th by a much older Hopkins and stayed down for quiet a long time after the 10 count. Everyone points to the fact that Tito's win over DLH was controversial but so was DLH's over Sturm. I dunno bout u guys but a controversial win over a great fighter DLH says alot more than a controversial win over a mediocre fighter Sturm. Also DLH did win against Whitaker, a close fight, but Trinidad beat Whitaker convincingly. And finally DLH picked up Tito's leftovers again with a softened up Mayorga. Not that Mayorga had a chance with or without the beating he received from Trinidad but I do believe thats what allowed to knock him out sooner than Trinidad did. Finally I am not a Tito nuthugger I am a fan of both. Both were great fighters but I do think Trinidad edges him out slightly in terms of the legacy he left behind.

I'm going to have to side with Trinidad here. Sure, he lost twice in dominant fashion, but you win sometimes and lose sometimes. You can't detract from Trinidad's dominant wins in all of his significant fights (Omitting of course the De La Hoya head scratcher). Vargas, Blocker, Joppy, David Reid. While he exhibiting a great deal of vulnerability, he also displayed more visible and clearer signs of greatness in the way he approached situatons than De La Hoya.

De La Hoya is a guy who had very close, disputable wins in most of his big fights. Whitaker, Quartey, Sturm, Molina, and then of course he gae away the Trinidad fight.

I'm sorry, I gotta go with Tito.

Younger hopkins? damn how old are you? hopkins was 36 or 37 when he fought tito. Chavez was the same age as hopkins but chavez was destroy by delahoya. If hopkins was younger then so was chavez.

                    6 divisional champion.
biggest box office draw since mike tyson.
                    maintstream star (sort of).
                    incredible skill.
                    phenominal charisma.
                    extremely versatile in the ring.
fought and beat some of the best.

and he never really got his ass handed to him like tito did... twice no less.

De La Hoya won his 6th belt in a robbery win. And i never seen Tito on the ground crying beating up the canvas after being dropped from a weak body shot. Oscars only real big win was against Vargas. All his other big fight wins were controversial.
