tell me the whole Europe doesnt have an anti-american feelings whenit comes to boxing
I think it's a reaction.... it gets taken as anti-American on messageboards and stuff, but Europeans just have to read so much bull**** (like having to read for a YEAR about how the untested Lacy was for real, and how Calzaghe was "just a Brit f.ag") that bull**** resentment will build.
The rise in bull**** seems to me to coincide with the decrease in American dominance.
Example: you don't hear of American posters bigging up Ali or Ray Robinson (because they don't need to, they are great) and you don't hear of any European posters slagging off Ali or Robinson (because they don't need to....)
But we have here arguably the most frustrating boxer in existence... a man who appears to have all the talent in the world but rarely put it to use. That's not a discussion for a messageboard, that's a bitter shame.
To continue my theme, look at the way any third-rate US heavyweight is now being touted on these boards since all the heavyweights belts went to the former Soviet republics. Would we REALLY be reading threads like "is Monte Barrett underrated?" if it wasn't for the nationalistic overhype?
