maybe don king didn't want it, but not tyson. i could understand king, seldon and bruno had the wbc/wba belts at that time.

that's your opinion, not fact. facts are seldon/bruno had belts which lewis didn't have at that time. and tyson got suspended again right after the holyfield fights so no chance for a lewis fight till he got out.

            Seldon/shmeldon.

Lewis was the WBC's #1 contender and Tyson's mandatory. Tyson defened against Pinklon Thomas in 1987 for the same reason; but it wasn't the same Tyson in 1996. So, on one hand, you've got this 6'6" monster with a great jab and a better right hand that destroyed in two rounds the guy you failed to get a clean knock-out over in 19 rounds.....and on the other hand you've got this 6'1" fighter who was stopped in one round by Rid**** Bowe and has more glass in his chin than your mother does in her china cabinet. The right thing to do is defend your belt and act like a champion, the survivalist thing to do is take the easy payday.

            Guess what Mike did.....ducked Lewis.

That's the truth of it. Rid**** dumped his belt rather than fight Lennox and Mike did the same thing.

Bro the HW champ is suppose to knock nig**s out not just survive. Lewis was a boring HW champ plain and simple. U tell me what other hw champ didn't go for a ko 99.999... % of the time when it was available. LL didn't because he was scared in his heart not to. He knew his chin was suspect

...if he got you hurt, then yeah; but going for the k.o. was not his m.o. It's a style and temperment thing.
