Was Lennox Lewis a great champion ?

Personally, I don't think he was garbage but, what do u think ? Someone asked to start a poll so here it is. Now remember this Ali was great, Joe louis was great, theirs a big difference between decent and GREAT. Respect ur opinion either way.

no, two reasons why: he was stripped of the WBA title and he DROPPED the IBF title. i understand he did so in order to pursue larger paydays, but seeking out the big money fights isnt what great champions do. great champions defend the title against ALL COMERS, something lewis had a problem with.

im not saying lewis was a terrible champion, but saying he was a great champion is way out of line.

I voted 'yes'. Sure I don't think of him as an 'all-time great', but his career is comparable to some of the best. Someone mentioned his losses. Consider that Joe Louis lost to Scmelling and was outboxed by Conn, who weighed in the 170s for the fight, The thing we remember is that Louis destoyed Schmelling in the rematch, and beat Conn more handily the second time as well. Think of Lennox the same regarding his losses. Also, we consider Marciano great because he beat the best fighters available, and because he won close matches even when it wasn't clear that he was the better fighter. Lewis did the same.
