It's no fault of Ricky's that Mitchell and Harris were running scared of him for years, agreeing to fights with him only to back out after watching Hatton videos, etc. But recently it got to the point with Hatton where it would be a step BACK to fight Mitchell or Harris, having beat the men who beat them.. it's funny to think back now to the days when Hatton was being so criticised in America (even though Mitchell or Harris just would not get in the ring with him).

Sorry, a few of them were over 35, I think. I forgot.

Best Hatton has fought are Tszyu, Phillips, Magee and Tackie. But add Castillo and Corrales or Witter/Corley winner to that list, and possibly Mayweather.

Tszyu, Phillips, Mayweather, Castillo - stuff of first ballot HOF and modern great.
        Well you've proven my point.

Tackie who lost his last 2 fights before Hatton and only won 3 of his last 6 fights before Hatton.

        Phillips who was 40years old

Magee is C level at best and a journeyman

Tzu was 35years old and even Ricky comments on Tzu's fighting ability before there fight.

You can't thrown in Castillo, Corrales or PBF because he hasn't fought them yet.

The fact is Hatton is a non-elite fighter who can only shine at in a talent depleted jrWW division. Hatton cannot compete with elites and only survived against the only good fighter C+/B level that wasn't 35 or older.

You probably don't even know what Magee's skin colour is..

Let me tell you, apart from being a southpaw, Eamonn Magee is a former TOP amateur who got a silver medal at the World Junior's in 1989 and avenged his defeat to Urkal in 1993 before quitting boxing for a few years. He only turned pro because he had no money, when he fought Hatton it was the first time he ever got himself into shape, he stopped smoking for the first time ever and knocked out some former European champions in sparring for Hatton. Magee had been robbed against Paul Burke with no training, and apart from that he'd only lost one early fight.

Magee was a genuine, world-class fighter who Hatton out-boxed. Remember, Hatton/Magee was a 50/50 pick 'em! Magee had showed flashes in his career of awesome handspeed here and there, and was very effective at counter-punching off the ropes.

How can you possibly call Hatton, of all people, a non-elite fighter?? He was the best in the world in his category in the amateurs.

He has the best left to the body we've ever seen, and came up with combinations to the body that nobody had ever done before. His hands are lightning fast, and he thoroughly dominated all his opponents. And you call him non-elite?? I'm lost for words.
