That's really what is happening. Fighters need to get off their high horses. Pay them what's fair. Overpaying for dud fights is also what's killing boxing.

You also can't just handwave away the issue of how difficult it is to travel internationally right now - this current wave of flight restrictions between various countries has come far too late for it to make a real difference but they're still there.
Easy for us to say? Not really. The US has enough fighters not to need international fighters. How about the American promoters and their boxers mixing it up a little bit?

Agree with the overall sentiment. Orgs and promoters fook things up a lot.

But... in the last three or four years, and just taking the current TBRB Rankings in the Heavies as an example we've had:

          1 v 3
          3 v 1
          2 v 4
          4 v 2
          6 v 2
          6 v 2
          5 v 8
          5 v 7

Currently negotiating 1 v 2. And 5 v 8 is happening next month. And we've just had the most disrupted year imaginable.

          It's not a bad run.

We'll never get every fight we want, but I think we should acknowledge that we are getting some big fights.

Boxing is doing well, globally. Its in America where its bombing but its in America where the problem is.

Proctected fighters being matched weak. Overpriced PPV's with poor undercards and mostly an ever turning circle of the better fighters talking smack about each other but never fighting or fighting too late. Blatent robberies. American Boxing really needs to sort it's chit out.

You always have the option of staying where you are and not coming here. Of course you will not make any money so stop acting like you guys are less greedy.

The problem is network exclusive deals, regardless of promoter, regardless of fighter nationality, race etc.

When the networks paid for fights, the incentive was to earn more by fighting the best fights. Now it’s make sure a guy that gets ratings has fights where he shows his skills and not necessarily in a tough fight.

So while you point the finger, the same thing that goes for all the guys you hate on PBC, it’s no different for the guys you love from other countries on DAZN or espn.

Let’s get rid of the network exclusive deals for every pro boxer and go back to a system where fights are bid on, not fighters. Guarantee you will see a difference.

I don't think you'll see too many HIGH profile fights without a crowd involved. They're looking to maximize $$$ so they'll wait rather than take a pay cut and potentially risk losing the fight and then losing the BIGGER pay check when things eventually turn around.

I'm just not sure that is the smart thing to do. Some of these guys can get rusty with the lack of activity or in the case of older guys (Pac), he's like an old car that hasn't been turned on in awhile. Those old cars will run forever as long as you keep running them daily and changing their fluids but the second you let it sit for too long, the age of the car shows when you try to turn it back on...

I think some guys should just fight to stay relevant, make some money and deal with the situation. On the other hand, a lot of guys feel, they've earned those big checks and it may have taken awhile to get there. Now they don't want to be short changed... Not only the fighter, but everyone involved around the fighter would feel the same way and rather wait for the bigger pay checks to come in.

The China virus is to blame and guys like Spence/Crawford, Charlo/Andrade not wanting to fight each other.

I really wish ppv would die.

Love the subscription format - ie you buy your sports channels and boxing is part of it. Or you buy box nation and its got all the content.

Also a small bit of freeview thrown in and available on top.
