    Why is Boxing so Dead...

Nothing to be excited about these days, no big fights happening or planned, everything is kinda stagnant. Promoter and network fans outnumber real boxing fans. BS corrupt orgs. It's too depressing. Time for fans to stand their ground.

Maybe we are losing our balls to say what we mean to these crooks.

I think that Covid's largely to blame. We got a rush of great events when the first wave of lockdowns fizzled out and things started to open up, but ever since the new variants and the caseload surge basically everywhere in the world, it's become a lot harder to put on an event and it's becoming increasingly burdensome for fighters to travel internationally. It's really only Australasia and parts of southeast Asia that have kept it under control enough for large crowds at sporting events to be viable, and even there there's limits to that. At least Choc-Estrada's still on, right now I'm just holding out for that.

We can't blame everything on some virus. People have already got used to no crowd. No excuses. Don't overpay fighters, pay them what they are worth.

Everybody waiting on decisions from Pac and Canelo. You’ve got literally 3 whole divisions on standby waiting for 2 men. Add in 135 is filled with a bunch of undefeated talent and nine of them want to face each other. That’s the problem.

I mean we just got the Caleb v Caleb super fight everyone had been asking for so there's bound to be a little down time in between.

Couple decent fights coming up at least. Joe Smith vs Maxim Vlasov, Joseph Diaz vs Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov. March has a good one, Estrada v Gonzalez. Berchelt Valdez, Frampton Herring, Shields Dicaire, Bohachuk Adams all seem interesting to me. Alberto Machado vs Hector Tanajara could be good. Then there's Povetkin Whyte for all those that wanna see that one too.

When it stopped being broadcast on the major networks it started to decline.

It's easy for us to say that but you've got to remember that this is a sport ruled by greed like no other. It's clear to me that most top-level fighters would rather not fight at all rather than fight and not get the fat paycheck they've grown accustomed to. You also can't just handwave away the issue of how difficult it is to travel internationally right now - this current wave of flight restrictions between various countries has come far too late for it to make a real difference but they're still there.

Caleb vs Caleb was a super fight? I live in LA and didn't even know that it happened or was going on.

I was just joking. It was garbage and I refuse to even open the file on my DVR.
