Whyte wanted a fight, so he made an offer to fight Povetkin, who agreed.
It doesn't matter what you think at all, boxers have the right to fight each other if they so wish.

This was a voluntary fight made by Whyte because he wanted another fight. He chose Povetkin rather than some nobody because he wanted a real fight not an easy ride.

"Make more fights not the same bull****." ....Who are you talking to? The boxing gods? Who are you asking to make these fights? The Big Cheese of all boxing? The spirit of John L. Sullivan?

Whyte made this fight, are you asking Whyte to make fights that don't involve Whyte?
Without Whyte this fight wouldn't have happened and there wouldn't have been a better alternative or any alternative at all.

You're saying "THEY" should make more fights. Who are they? And when "THEY" (in this case Whyte) do make more fights you complain about it.

What is your angle? You can't be a boxing fan with that attitude, maybe a personality cultist?

You're a special one aren't you. Took you all that time? Whyte should be fighting OTHER fighters not an old man who does nothing for him than avenge a loss in a fight that any fan I've spoken to in actual real life doesn't want.

They refers to whomever is involved in which ever fight is being organised.

My angle is enjoying the fights I watch and having the division progress. Yours seems to be blatantly shilling for Whyte?

Whyte wants this fight as he was embarassed and should have won it. Nothing else. He did not however win it and it's shouldn't be on Povetkin to then squander the luck he got by winning by running it back. Luckily they are so unconfident in Whyte that they had the 1 way rematch clause. Do you honestly think Whyte would rematch Povetkin if he lost? And yet you claim this is for him to have a "hard fight"? A fight he was supposedly winning and boxing well in until he was caught and sparked? You literally contradict yourself. All your overblown hyperbole and semantics doesn't change anything, in fact make you look incredibly childish and fanboyish. Incapable of a decent discussion of any sort yet you think I am not a fan? Why did he not rematch Rivas? That was a close fight that he arguably lost yet Rivas is an up and comer in comparison to Povetkin who would likely have made much more adjustments and to bring an even better fight the second time AS WELL as developing the younger generation of heavyweights. Oh wait he doesn't need to avenge that as he sc****d it on the cards. ETC. Or if he wants to fight an old fighter on their way out he could fight Ortiz as he was supposed to. Could take someone like Hughie Fury to show he can handle a different style. There are plenty more fights to be made that aren't. You can be critical of fighters you like taking terrible fights or can at least admit the truth of them.

The Rivas fight was for the mandatory position why would he rematch him pursuing Wilder ?

Whyte gave Povetkin the opportunity,he didn’t have to take that fight that’s why there was a rematch clause.

You’re going on a rant about nothing .

I mentioned Rivas only as Angel said the only reason Whye is taking this fight is as it's a "good fight". I'm also saying that it is a ****** reason as there are other good fights. And your second statement makes the situation seem even worse - so he gave Povetkin the opportunity but when Povetkin capitalised he wanted it ran back meaning there never was an actual opportunity just Whyte hoping to cash in on a fading fighters name which backfired. At least that's how it looks to me as an observer who has no bias behind either fighter. edit : i'm actually replying directly to a rant, you know the guy who couldn't make one single post and had to spam the thread? you know if you actually read what was going on instead of picking random parts of posts that you dislike before replying you may not look ******. Newsflash I'm not anti-Whyte, you don't need to keyboard warrior for him to me. Also love your ninja fast edit but I just hit quote which shows the ****** rant comment was added after and is why I needed to edit one in. fs mate LOL

The Rivas fight was ordered by the WBC .

Povetkin said he’d fight Whyte ten times if the fans wanted it . If anyone’s looking to run it back it’s him ,that’s why he signed the contract ,that is to get two Whyte fights on one of the biggest paydays for him .

Another meaningless rant on your part .

You seem to be taking this badly for some reason. Of course he is taking the Whyte fight seriously and focused on it. He would be an idiot not to. The payday is understandable and that should be the real answer as to why the fight is happening but you superfangirls are so caught up in your hormones you can't even say that before bleeding all over a thread. And really, given Whytes position and his ducking of multiple eliminators it actually should have put Povetkin on a path to an even bigger payday that isn't a rematch but I guess that's on his team not him. Whyte is not a cash cow lol so yes while he is a great payday for some it's not like there are not better out there. Also now you have both gave contradicting reasons as to why it's actually happening. And you assume a rant is anything more than a sentence and have a bad habit of editing nonsense to a post after posting so clearly you are not worth actually having a conversation with.

What final elimination bouts did Whyte duck ?

Whyte is a cash cow for anyone outside AJ and Fury and in these times because he headlines PPV U.K events .

Povetkin cannot just walk off and neglect an agreed to rematch he signed to even if he wanted to and who do you think he fights next if not Whyte ? Ha . You have no clue about how it works .

The reason the fight is happening is because Povetkin won ,if you can’t understand this ,you need to just walk off .Ha

You literally posted nothing again .

As far as I am aware, which may be wrong because all I can go on is reports he has pulled out twice as he feels the WBC (rightly) shafted him a few years ago regarding his mando position. Which sucks for him but he still needs to take the fights in the eliminators or he can't complain. Why has he not fought Ortiz like I mentioned previously and you ignored? The prior person claims it's because Pov is a good fight, now you are saying something different. It really just makes both of you seem like fanboys. We are fans. Purses, cash cows, contracts, none of it should matter when we speak of the fights we want. I didn't want this and came here to see if I was alone in that. It's funny you say I post nothing again when jumped in midway to me replying to someone which is what the substance of the posts was about. And if I post nothing then damn I don't even know how to begin to quantify what you post.

Clearly the answer to my original question was - Both fighters want it and there is a lack of other options currently and that's is why the fight is happening. Which is a good enough reason to appease me as I was ignorant beyond as I said seeing Whyte get sparked badly and thinking Pov should be looking to capitalise before ending. Maybe due to his age, Whyte is the best chance of money he can get before going due to as you say PPV and again that could have been the answer to me. Maybe he is bubbled in the matchroom bubble etc and it's just the best possible fight even if it is a rerun some of us don't think should happen. You fangirls blow my mind.

Ortiz declined Whyte in 2016 and July of 2018 . You can’t state he declined Ortiz ,that’s false .

I don’t have to say something different anyone can look up the WBC ordered Rivas vs Whyte as a final elimination bout,it’s not my fault people are incompetent that they don’t even know what their fighters are signing to .

Whyte did take the Povetkin fight bc it’s a good one so I don’t even know what you’re talking about again .

How are you going to speak of the fights you want when you don’t know how they get or could be made ,which includes everything you said shouldn’t be important ?

“Purses, cash cows, contracts, none of it should matter when we speak of the fights we want” Ha

The only one that blew anything was you on here ,ranting about nothing true besides reiterate what I said in spots which were the only facts here .
