Hmmmmm you a runner of massive double standards.
Difference is Wilder beat his elderly opponent. And didn't end up out cold on the canvas.

Ortiz was also higher ranked than journeymen pov.

When has an interim title fight that ended so decisively ever required a rematch? Yeah Povetkin was dropped but he obviously wasn't that hurt and probably would have finished the fight on his feet.

Doesn't seem fair that just because he wasn't supposed to win that Povetkin doesn't get to move on to a better opportunity. Especially at his age. And just the same Whyte should have to work his way back up.

Yeah I'll watch the ****ing fight cause there is so little boxing on anyway, but doesn't mean I have to willingly and happily lap it up.

Also I'm not pretending everyone agrees with me, and it might not be the majority but there's clearly a divide in the thread. I'm not going to speculate any % but it's not as if I'm some minor dissenting opinion if multiple people are in agreement.
Incredibly unfair to have 1 sided rematch clause, just how Match room like it.

        Lol... so true.

How easy whytes 3 remaining fans forget facts like this.

I remember him complaining about the count.... ffs Whyte was lifeless and almost dead on the canvas... a if ref would bother with a count.

Whyte is going to box safely and try to KO Povetkin late rounds.

Since when does an interim title fight need a rematch especially when the guy got KTFO!
            I want to see it.

The only champion level fight Wilder has had is Fury 1 and 2.

And he deserves credit for fighting the top guy in the division, which is something AJ has never done.

He should be looking for his last big fight not rematches. And sure Whyte was looking better than usual but that's not enough cause for a rematch, come on. Fighters lose and learn. What's the upside for either boxer and us the fans other than Whyte feeling better if he avenges the brutal ko.
It was a completely voluntary fight as Whyte wanted to keep active. As it is a voluntary fight they can impose whatever clause they want in the contract.

Surely it's better for fans if there are more fights between top 10 rated heavyweights? You seem to disagree and think that fighters should only ever fight each other once.

If Dillian Whyte wants to fight everyone in the top 10 twice and wants 3-4 fights a year, I don't have a problem with that.

It makes a change from the endless parade of Hispanic midgets that seem to be 95% of American PPV shows lately.

Must hurt that even Whyte beats every American heavyweight out there. Sad really (but pretty funny too).

The fight was voluntary, it was given a rematch clause because Whyte was the mandatory challenger and Povetkin had nothing to lose (why would he need a rematch?).

If you lose something, you get it back. If you had nothing, you can't get it back. That is why the clause was one sided dummy.

Yes more fights between top 10 fighters, not rematches of pointless fights. Even if it is a good fight, it is pointless. You said it yourself, it's a top 10. Make more fights not the same bull****. And dunno why you are so defensive of it, multiple repeated posts defending Whyte for some mad reason against attacks that don't exist? lol.
