In your post you mention how Oscar started at 130lbs., but fail to mention how Canelo started at 140lbs.

30lbs. north of both their respective start points, Canelo performs better.

Canelo will accomplish more but I think Oscar was the better fighter in much tougher competition.

plus, Oscar fought anyone. He didn't play the A Side BS to pick and choose
He cherrypicked Hopkins thinking he was old and washed only to get knocked out lmaoo

Canelo comfortably above Oscar and he still has about 5-6 years left.

Canelo didn't crack world class until he hit 147,I think he might've fought Baldomir at welter.Oscar won a world title at 130 ,so theres 3 divisions between them when they emerged into competitive competition. No use counting Canelo 4 rounders at the point when Oscar was winning amateur titles. So Oscar at middle was Canelo at cruiser.Remember ,Sturm was a young decent middle ,not a faded lightheavy whod just gone to hell and back against a man like Yarde who hasn't even won a domestic title.

I still don’t think Canelo is up there yet since he doesn’t really have a signature win apart from the close GGG fights. And he’s yet to garner the star power that De La Hoya had.
I think he is a better fighter right now than Oscar was on his best day. Oscar had LOTS of signature losses after age 26. He had 6 losses in 14 fights from age 26 until he retired. Oscar was undefeated until age 26. In contrast Canelo really got rolling at age 26 and improved a hell of a lot and still seems to be getting better at age 30. The same age Oscar was going down hill fast.

I think Oscar actually peaked in the first Chavez fight.I know Julio was on the way down, and got cut,but that night ,at 140 I think, he looked at hes best as an athlete.Yeah he faded quicker, but Pernell ,Quartey ,Trinidad, Mosley ,even Vargas were pretty much prime.Im having trouble thinking of a young prime guy Canelo fought .Callum Smith?

Whitaker was no where near prime.

                      Neither was Vargas.
