Is Canelo already greater than De La Hoya?

    Compare the resumes.

I still don’t think Canelo is up there yet since he doesn’t really have a signature win apart from the close GGG fights. And he’s yet to garner the star power that De La Hoya had.

I'm racking my brains trying to work out if anyone on Canelos resume compares to a peak Quartey or Trindad,or even the Pernell of 97.I dont think so.

Very few people ODLH didn't fight. Unfortunately we never saw him agains Forrest or a rematch agains Trinidad at 154.

But you can't fight them all.

True, strength in opposition goes further than just titles/moving up divisions. Oscar had both. He had some serious killers on his resume.

He did play the A side and would use that to his advantage in the ring. Picking ring size, gloves, etc.

That being said, Oscar is more talented than Canelo

Oscar is probably the 'greater' fighter at this point, but the gap is narrowing quickly. I also feel like Canelo beats Oscar in a fight though.
