OK looks like it's working largely as expected... gonna have a bit more of a play around with it, see if I can't figure what it is that makes the difference between needing the whitespace stripper and not and what it is in the html encoder that creates issues... I think the problems might well be around the
break instruction as pointed out by BPP - that's included in the tableriser code but not in the but not in the headers I've been using. I'll have a tinker with that see if I can reduce the number of steps required (not that the spacestripping takes more than a minute, but I'd like to have a clear methodolgy writen down somewhere in case anyone else needs to do it so the more streamlined it is the better).

Also when I got a bit more time I want to come back to that idea we mentioned at the start of 2020 about having each possible fight outcome enoded into a single keystoke... might take alittle setting up but it sure a/f would save some of the hassle...

In terms of the rest of the updating I'm hoping I'll be able to clear time for Weds eve or early Thursady in time for the Bohachuk vs Adams fight... assuming it's still on. Boxrec ain't showing it on their schedule for reasons best known to themselves, although it is on the fighter listingfs. I haven't been able to find any news of it being cancelled though, so I'm assuming it's going ahead.

Also... when t/f did you become a mod, man? Is that for NSB or one of the other forums? I mean maybe you always were but I woulda thought I'd have noticed before now. Either way, get ready to get innudfated with notifications for every pIck Em thread or related stuff that we need pinning... I'm sure you'll be sick of me before long.

I should be able to finish the rankings table for #6-8 today. I underestimated how long it takes to finish that table, but I think, for the next table, I can tweak some steps and save a lot of time.

For this pick em table, I posted the "detailed" table, because there might be some mistakes with the formulas that Ive overlooked and its easier to spot the mistakes if the picks are also available to see.

Regardless, Pick Em #9-12 was really unpredictable. 2 upsets, 1 draw and the fourth fight being split down the middle more or less, made it a lot more difficult to get some points and also a lot of multipliers were wasted.

Some notes: (just saw that I forgot the perfect pick column, will fix that later)

Starting with the worst performers:
Kezzer, KingCal, KoolKC107, Shepperino, Tatabanya, and myself lost all 4 picks and earned respectable 0 points.

Shoutout to keithj who was not only the only one who picked Chudinov Vs Chilemba correctly, it was also a rare successful draw pick.

Use of multipliers:

two players ended up correctly using their 5x multipliers.

Mathed earned 100 points for picking Valdez, dec, close

ruedboy earned 100 points for picking Avanesyan, dec, close

Rockin earned 120 points for a perfect 3x pick: Avanesyan, KO, mid

You put some fantastic work in here, man, and helped me out in a bind. I'm pretty much done with the work I had to get done, just wrapping up a few loose ends. I knew there was a reason I quit doing proof-reading, cos by the time my OCD ass gets done with it I end up having earned waaay under minimum wage trying to get everything perfect instead of just 'good enough'. Give me a wall to build or some decking to lay any day of the week, but when money gets tight you do what you gotta I guess.

I should be able to pick up where you're up to tomorrow if you want, or if you're on a roll and reckon you're good to get us up to date on the leaderboard, I'm absolutely 100% mega cool with that too! Gonna pour me a beer now, relax a bit, but I'd like a chat with you over the next day or two see how you've worked your system. Looks pretty much as I envisaged when you first brought it up, but we need to figure out whether treating every fight seperately actually saves time or if it doesn't whether it's worth it in terms of increased accuracy and transparency / verifiability.

EDIT: Oh yeah, tiny detail and it really don't matter but if you want the header on the table to span the full width (or any number of columns you choose) you can add a 'colspan' instruction to your <th> or <td> so your first line after the <tr class="tableizer-firstrow"> (or <tbody> using my method) instruction would read <tr><th colspan="9" align="center">NSB PICK EM 2021 #XXX RESULTS</th></tr> where you'd replace the colspan '9' value with the number of columns you wanted the header to span. Funny though it still looks like when I do it to the tableriser version it gives me all the blank space above. You still having the issue with not being able to include paragraphs and line returns? I found that if I literally just cut out all the tableriser instructions up to the first <th> instruction and insert my own first line of of tabulation code it bypasses the problem but now I gotta see if I can find out exactly what's causing it. Damn curiosity.

EDIT II: Yeah, bit baffling that. Even when I literally copy the tabulation html from a quote of your post a post it as my own table I still run into the whitespace problem and it leaves a massive blank area above the table although it clearly doesn't when you post it.
