Ok gents just thinking about the Pick Ems for this weekend and of course we got Gallo vs Chocolatitio but I'm wanting to gauge what people think about McCaskil vs Braekhus. I know, I know - there's a level of hypocrisy including that when we passed on Shields vs Dicaire last week especially when both were for undisputed, but frankly Marie Eve never even had a shot whereas for my money McCaskill vs Braekhus II is wide open... Ain't been able to find odds on it yet, but honestly I'd be surprised if it comes wider than about 2:1 either way whereas Clarissa was something like -1200 against Dicaire.

Anyways... it's open for debate is all I'm saying. I'm interested in it and unless we got any strong objections I'm inclined to include it, so please let me know your thoughts gents.

    Regards

Looking back I can't believe I actually stuck with it so long, or that I managed it with so few mistakes (although there were still plenty). Suddenly found instaed of 2 or 3 hours a week just on the tables I could usually manage it in a hour or so including a write up and special mentions. Like you say, kinda satsifying figuring out new ways of doing stuff.

Are you gonna bring us up to date with Adams vs Bohachuk or do you had enough for now? No problem if you want to hand it back but I sure as hell ain't complaining if you want to put the finishing touches on it... also have you had any thoughts about how you'd incorporate underdog multipliers in to the system? seems to me it'd be OK just adding it in on the multipliers column for an applicable win totalling with any optional multipliers that have been used. Seems like overkill to add in a whole extra column given that the underdog multipliers actually only come into play pretty rarely.
Yeah I'll bring us up to date and probably before the fight for this week are done. Got a couple days off this week.

Underdog multipliers are added to other multipliers instead of multiplied, right?

if the multipliers are added on, I would just use the same column.

      Regarding braekhus vs McCaskill.
Imo, for women fight the requirement should be
      1) title fight
      2) perceived as a close fight

Otherwise we would have to use every title fight and rarely are those competitive at the current talent pool and most of the time you can guarantee a decision victory.

Yeah underdog multipliers are just added so it makes sense to me to just use the same column... main thing is just remebering it. It's one of those thaings that comes into play so rarely the few times it does I often forget to include it and then have to go back and edit scores later. Fortunately there's never many folk brave enough to pick a +300 or greater underdog so I've naver had more than two or three to sort out each time.

And yeah.. I guess that's a kinda aye from you on Braekhus vs McCaskil then? It's for all the marbles and definitely should be seen as a close fight... I suspect McCaskil might go in as a slight favourite but my guess is it'll be not far off evens.

Yeah, its probably not a guaranteed win for McCaskill. I actually havent watched the first fight yet, but as far as I know it was a volume fighter vs better technical boxer, which should give Braekhus a shot to adapt in the rematch. Or braekhus at 39 cant keep up with high volume anymore (should take a look at hopkins on how to shutdown volumes).

no thanks the less womens fights the better, i speak for 90% of users here that have no interest in womens boxing at all. not because they have a snatch, but because its awful.

OK for the Braekhus vs McCaskill rematch for me. I don't like watching women fight, but I do like picking...

Okay we got about a 50/50 split on McCaskill vs Braekhus but I reckon we'll go with the nays this time, seems like even the dudes who voted yes ain't actually massively interested in the fight itself... warning you all now though that if we get any combination of Taylor / Serrano / Shields / this weeks winner, or if we get Marshall vs Shields I'm afraid I may just pull rank though...

Definitely ain't outside the realms of possibility... not quite sure what the issue was with Cecilia last time but she looked both physically out of shape (despite apparently having done pretty much back to back camps) and kinda lackluster in the ring although obviously McCaskill deserves the credit for putting her under the kind of pressure she ain't seen in years. Time ain't her side but she's still the better boxer of the pair... question is whether she can handle Jessica's relentless pace and agression.

What odds you got on that?
