Not a truer word... and he also received gifts over non-shot fighters. Ask Ike Quartey and Pernell Whitaker.

You’re showing your bias and using hindsight. He wasn’t stepping up in most the losses outside the B Hop and maybe the last two lost fights and that’s due to circumstances. Trinidad and Shane were the ones stepping up.

You have to remember the landscape of then. He didn’t get gifts vs Chavez for example and that was considered his step up of sorts. I remember living in Sinaloa at the time and the magnitude of the first Chavez fight was insane and the second was big also because of the first ending.

The Genaro fight was big. The Ruelas fight was big. The Quartey fight was big. The Vargas fight was huge. Etc. They just weren’t bigger because he won, but at those times, those guys were top of the food chain guys in their divisions.

If you think losing to Floyd and Pac after you’re s hot to s hit and losing to B Hop outside of your division is bad, yikes. I’d hate to see what it takes to be a great fighter for you. You cant just pretend Oscar didnt have a whole ass career before Trinidad and wasn’t basically a shoe in for the hall of fame by then.

Idk how the sub model vs the PPV model isn't a big obstacle by itself. Let alone the others that have always been & aren't even arguable that they wouldn't be obstacles.

You know, I have to rewatch that one. I only saw it once, live as it happened on TV, and thought that De La Hoya had edged it by a hair. But my memory could fail.

On the other hand, we must admit that Oscar was robbed vs Trinidad, even if he ran in the last four rounds.

DAZN can go PPV now though so it shouldn't be THAT difficult to make.
So you think this could be the first joint PPV between Fox/Showtime & DAZN?

That could be how you make this fight but I see that something as way above Ryan's & Tank's pay grade to have confidence in.

I used to think Teo Lopez was the biggest bragger in boxing but Garcia is even a bigger bragger who has done much less than Lopez.
