Have to respect Garcia for not fronting and wanting the big fights.
Too often we hear both sides telling us why a big fight won’t get made.
Ready or not no doubt Garcia would do it. Not sure Tank or Floyd would though. They seem more likely to tray and build Tank up with some easy wins for a while longer.Comment

I like this fight for late 2021. I'd like to see Ryan fight Linares in the first half of 2021, facing another veteran will benefit him. I'm sure even his trainer agrees.
Is Ryan really exclusive to DAZN? This fight has to be PPV. Golden Boy should explore all options. If DAZN wants it on their platform they will have to put up a substantial amount of money. I think this fight does 1M plus buys.Comment

why should he get credit for chavez and whittaker, good names but like you said, they were older. You realize people don't give Pacquiao credit for beating barrera since he was "older", so why can't the same be done here. What are you talking about? He won most of his big fights. Did you only start watching boxing when Pac and Floyd were huge names?
For reference, he fought Pernell and Chavez over a decade before he ever fought Floyd and Pac. That’s how long Oscar was operating at a top level for. Though they (Chavez and Pernell) were older, I don’t think you realize how big the Chavez fights were especially in Mexico and how important the Whittaker fight was seen for him.
He lost to Tito in a fight many consider a robbery (though he s hit the bed) Shane twice (once proper, the second many consider a robbery AND shane was juicing.)
Then he lost to B Hop while daring to be great at MW and it pretty much rounded out his career. Then while he came back, lost to Floyd and still some people (wrongly) believe he might have pulled off a draw, then an even more shot version of him weight drained to lose to Pac.
Almost every De La Hoya fight was a big fight for over a decade against top competition and some hall of famers. Some of these fights wouldnt be seen *as* big had Oscar not lost and catapulted careers to next levels. But people forget that.
You can only lose against atgs if you fight them. He won some and he lost some. Deserves all the in ring respect he gets even if he’s sus af outside it.
tito, like you said again, he lost(doesn't matter what people think), and same with shane, another loss
lost to hop, mayweather, pacquiao
Rather than list the big fights he won, you listed the big fights he lost which proved my point. who cares how you try to spin it, he lost. what are some other big fights he won, vargas? mayorga? please. want to throw out camacho, another older fighter? I say this same thing for tyson, once he upped the competition, he lost
if you're such a big dick rider for fishnets, how about you list the big fights he won, rather than list the big fights he lost but giving excuses for each one
and on a side note, why u so mad at folks who just started watching boxing with floyd and mayweather? They're the ones who brought boxing back and got casuals watching again. Look how pathetic boxing is. A pandemic with nothing to watch and yet boxing still couldn't draw viewers. Seems like boxing needs those type of people who just started watching to come back because you "hardcores" aren't cutting it for this pathetic sport that can't make the big fights.
I also find it funny how you say weight drained against pacquiao whereas he was the betting favorite and no one expected him to lose, but whatever excuse you want to make up to make you feel better towards the golden boy who took on all challengers but lost all the big fightsLast edited by HrNY; 01-05-2021, 05:04 PM.Comment

just the right recipe right there for tank to take a fight if he's following floyd's blueprint.
garcia is...
mexican fighter...check (he doesn't speak spanish doe lol)
popular...check
will bring in ppv buys...check
if this fight doesn't happen next, tank is fighting another no-hoper.Comment

Off course not. 😆
But of the two, Garcia seems more willing to take risks.
Fought nothing but bums then decided to fight Campbell.
Think how many were saying he's gonna get killed by Campbell. It was a genuine risk. What has Davis been upto lately?
But likely both will fight bums in the meantime.
The tried and tested best way to promote a fighter has always been highlight reel knockouts. The casuals don't care if it's against bums.Comment

Luckily I was not among them... I won a few bucks by picking a Garcia stoppage in the second half, but was scared as fùck when Campbell knocked the kid down hard in the second
I, too, believe that the fight won't be made as quickly as they say. I would be surprised of the contrary. Both have much to lose in fighting each other too soon. As of now, I still would put my money on Tank.Last edited by Tatabanya; 01-06-2021, 12:36 AM.Comment
