Not surprised that wbc belt on line... Smith is wbc diamond belt holder meaning he has first dibs anyways...... I’m more so shocked wbc didn’t create a crazy a$$ belt out of thin air like they usually do

He did the same thing with Andrade's WBO jr. middleweight belt when he was mandatory. Soon as Andrade was no longer champion, he jumped at the chance to fight Liam Smith for the vacant belt.

First of all, the title wasn't vacant. Smith was making his third defense against Canelo. As for Andrade, he had defended the title once (while Canelo was fighting Lara), pulled out of a fight with Jermell, then was stripped due to inactivity and spent over a year out of the ring due to a lawsuit with his promoter because of the Jermell fallout. This notion that he was supposed to be a priority for Canelo is nothing more than a hater spun narrative.

If you don’t understand how the WBC complicate themselves and make up the rules as they go along then you need to do more research about them.

How many times did Smith asked to fight the then WBC champion Benavidez and the WBC wouldn’t sanctioned him to be mandatory for the belt? But they sanctioned Yildrim TWICE.

As soon as the belt was vacant they were looking to get Canelo on that belt.

These guys literally have no rules, they just make it up as they go along (Thats literally in their rule book), so anyone using the “It’s in their rules” is just either silly or part of the problem of encouraging this sort of shenanigans.

Canelo haters try to fool boxing fans.

Andrade posed the question for the media, “why didn’t Canelo fight me for the 154 title?”

Ever since then all the salty black fight fans felt “oh Mexicans ducking black fighters cause dey is skurred!”

This is beyond easy to debunk.

Canelo wasn’t fighting for any belts as the Floyd loss affected... one could say. Why’d didn’t GBP push for Canelo vs Carlos Molina? Mexican vs Mexican card. Why’d didn’t GBP push for Canelo vs Bundrage? We’ve got all these obstacles with promoter war. These fights couldn’t happen because of the politics. GBP vs DiBella or the new GBP having lost Charlo to Haymon..

The WBO wasn’t the holy grail for GBP and Canelo considerations GBP vs Schaefer/Haymon... IBF in limbo with DiBella. Andrade demanding splits negotiations with GBP for a WBO?

GBP couldn’t even make Mayweather rematches with the WBC and WBA on lock down. Those belts weren’t even OFFICIALLY relinquished until 2016-2017 with Floyd wasting time with the orgs, not knowing Floyd’s recess or retirement.

GBP wasn’t in a good spot after the Floyd loss and Haymon mess that the STRUCTURED CANELO WEIGHT at 155 until lawsuits cooled down.

Andrade was just salty he was stripped and Liam took the vacant opportunity. Andrade knew the politics. He meant to say he wasted time with flimsy mgmt and didn’t get a Canelo payday to twist it in “he ducked me.”

Most fans don’t know anything about the politics, and boxing has very basic politics.

Cmon, Ray. The circumstances are elementary. Would u have preferred Smith vs Yildirim or Canelo vs Yildirim? Benavidez caused the mess. Blame that guy.
