I hear a lot about the alleged ducking Mayweather did, did those guys who were the GOATSs of the 70s, 80s, and 90s duck any great fighters during their career?
Did Ali, SRL, or RJJ duck anyone?

A lot of ppl's boxing knowledge goes back to Floyd & that has more cons than pros. One of the most obvious is: all the "ducking" & protecting your "O" started with him.
SRL was a diva, like Canelo is & Ryan Garcia is. For every fighter the fans say ain't ducking anybody there seems to always be fans will who will say he is/has & vice versa. I don't think there's anybody who's been labeled a diva that realistically hasn't ducked someone. But I also think the word "ducking" is once of the most incorrectly used words if not the most, in boxing.
"I'll fight Tommy Hearns when he's as popular as Roberto Duran" these words he'd be crucified for in this era.Comment

Ali fought everyone in his division as much as anybody in history, can't think think of a single miss. People say SRL waited on Hagler to get old and then wouldn't give a rematch. Hard to say 100% with those 2 without living through their era and knowing what was offered, called for by fans etc. I read an old boxing book from the 60s that accused Marciano of ducking somebody I'd never heard of
Some feel RJJ should've faced the Euro guys of his era Benn, Eubank, Darius M etc. I don't consider any of these a duck as none gave Roy a good offer. Don King made some great fights in this era but also stopped some. There was a title fight where DM faked an injury to get his opponent DQ'd. I found it harder to think he was willing to face Jones after that. Steve Collins is probably the one guy who really wanted RJJ but didn't get the fight if you want to call that a duckComment
