It was certainly a risky decision too because Leonard wasn't gettin any younger himself, plus he had been out of the ring for awhile. One could argue that he was preserving himself, but the flip side of that is having to knock off rust after a long period of inactivity.

Yeah that was 1980 I think, he was demanding 7 figures. As you say that’s a lot more than it sounds.

Ali duck Mike falking Weaver to fight Larry Holmes? Thats among the dumbest things Ive ever read on NSB and thats saying a helluva lot. Are you posting for shock value or are you so dumb that you actually believe that?
        - - Actually, it be Holmesy who did the majority ducking in his era as a long time single belt holder. Medically impaired Ali was easy $$$ by then.

Roy Jones whole super middle campaign was bs. After he beat Toney in 94, he did absolutely nothing until he moved up to 175. There were fights out there for him and I think they were all fights he would have won, but for some reason, he wanted to fight the Bryant Brannons and tony thortons of the world. I don't understand it.

That was around the time he signed a big HBO contract and was ok fighting low risk bums for guaranteed money.

Yup, one of the main reasons I have him #2 on my list. King May had two semi-close fights in his entire career and he respectively rematches both fighters. Both of them.

SRL was a diva, like Canelo is & Ryan Garcia is. For every fighter the fans say ain't ducking anybody there seems to always be fans will who will say he is/has & vice versa. I don't think there's anybody who's been labeled a diva that realistically hasn't ducked someone. But I also think the word "ducking" is once of the most incorrectly used words if not the most, in boxing.

"I'll fight Tommy Hearns when he's as popular as Roberto Duran" these words he'd be crucified for in this era.
you don’t know what your talking about lol....leonard boxed hearns just 10 months after the 2nd Duran fight.
it was Dundee who wanted the fight to become even juicier and more worldwide not leonard....you don’t duck a fighter when he is just 22 lol

you cannot duck a fighter who is naturally 2 weights below you....on that basis mayweather ducked gennady golovkin lol
