Let's stop calling it short notice preparation. These 2 have been eyeing each other for the past year, and both we're in the gym already prior to this fight being made, I expect the best versions of both sides.Comment

Best assessment yet. I gave you Karma for it. You and I know why Canelo fled light heavy as soon as he got there...Consensus of who? the general consensus of Smith is he clearly just lost to John Ryder & while im a big fan of Ryder, he is neither world level nor a SMW. hes a blown up MW. and he battered Smith around the ring.
Please tell me about the resume of Smith. ONE good win in his entire resume agaisnt a shot to bits Groves.
but hes undefeated on paper doe! hes big doe!
this is the Canelo MO, switch between the divisions looking for the weakest champion & the path of least resistence, and he STILL needs every single advantage agaisnt them. paid off officials and judges, check. PEDS. check. diva weight antics. check. giving the shortest amount of time for opponents to train for the fight while hes already known the date of his fight. check.
Oh and dont forget his opponent must be way past prime and/or looked crap in their last fight(s) until Canelo fights them.
If you wanna talk about Cherrypicking, then yea Canelo is the biggest cherrypicker in the entire sport.Comment

Def rooting for Smith but unless he can use his reach and power to its full potential against Canelo, he's gonna get overwhelmed on the insideComment

“Fleeing LHW” seems to be something Bivol has copied from Canelo... the Russian who has been chasing Champs at 168 instead of making it a priority to face Beterbiev or make noise about it. Is that a Russian thing? I guess Bivol is club Canelo wanting fights at 168.. lolComment

I thought you learned a long time ago not to dare comment on my posts. I mean, what kind of a man agrees to spar someone, bails the day before the scheduled meet up, comes up with 1000 excuses instead of just acknowledging that he’s a puss ass coward, yet still has the audacity to talk tough on here? You have no dignity and are a shame to Mexicans everywhere. You’re along the lines of a Chavez jr , a cross dressing phag who bails when things get real.Comment

Great post. Green K.
I'm sure Callum is prepared. He might even have overtrained over the year expecting immediate fights. As another poster said, any boxer who isn't ready, is an ass.Comment

cherry pick is an over used term but this fight does follow the typical Canelo approach of minimizing risk. He could’ve fought Smith when he first moved to 168 and said he was chasing greatness by wanting the wba belt. Instead of choosing the real wba champion he chose fielding who had an irrelevant belt and had been kod by smith in 1 round. Smith didn’t become an option until he saw what most believed was a clear loss to Ryder. Similar to how canelo spent close to 2 years finding creative ways to avoid ggg and didn’t eliminate these barriers until ggg hit 35 and looked very normal vs brook and especially Jacobs. With canelos last fight, do we really believe that canelo would’ve fought kovalev had kovalev not been 36 and coming off ko losses in back to back years? He never would’ve faced kovalev if kovalev was the same guy who stepped in the ring with ward the first time. Canelo has mastered minimizing risk and despite the big names on his resume, things need to be put in context. If Smith is a cherry pick we might as well give up on boxing, he's the Ring magazine #1 and top of the 168's they had a competition to decide that he won.
Obviously, I think Canello wins but that's not a cherry pick.
Who else have you got, I mean maybe if he could still boil all the way down to somewhere near Spence or Crawford? Has GGG still got it ? Even if he did fight Spence people would moan coz of the crash effects?Comment

Here come the usual Canelo trolls.you sir are clearly able to see through the groupie logic of canelo fans. They’re so transparent. They talk up anyone Canelo faces and ignore major details such as his opponents age (canelo has built his career on facing primarily 35 and older comp), canelo giving short notice for fights (as he’s doing here and did to kovalev), his consistent use of catch weights or rehydration clauses in order to put his opponent at a disadvantage, canelo benefiting from bad scorecards more than any boxer I can think of, etc. I’ll admit, on paper Canelos resume looks great, in reality, his career has been full of shrewd business decisions.
This is a short notice fight, sure, but short notice to the public only.
Smith just said in his interview he had been training for a December fight, so he's been in the gym. There will be no excuses, unlike you bunch of hating höes that already have that excuse forif Canelo wins.Comment
