Big guys like Smith need to use there size and brawl. Throw it all to the wall and try to smash him every round. The methodical boxer punching strategy is too easy for Canelo to work with

This will not be another Jacobs fight I am sure of that. Nothing could match that even if it were rehearsed. This is a fight typical Canelo taking advantage where he can, he is going to do everything he can to set things up to his advantage all fighters do if they have the pull to do it. So it leaves it to Smith to ignore anything he can not control and go in and fight his fight, make adjustments, trust his corner and find out where he stands and who Canelo is during these times. I HOPE it bring out the fight and the best in both guys. I see pressure on both sides good for that fact. I can live with this match up I have no problem with this match up at this time. Boxing needs a good fight from some of the top level guys. Maybe we get it with this one. Waste of talent if we dont on both sides. Seen enough of that lately .........

Smith is definitely better than he was against Ryder (and Ryder is better than some think), but Tris is kind of biased towards his fellow Brit fighters. I say this as someone who is English and has read his books and articles over the years. It's the one thing that lets him down as a writer, imo.

They talk up anyone Canelo faces and ignore major details such as his opponents age (canelo has built his career on facing primarily 35 and older comp), canelo giving short notice for fights (as he’s doing here and did to kovalev), his consistent use of catch weights or rehydration clauses in order to put his opponent at a disadvantage, canelo benefiting from bad scorecards more than any boxer I can think of, etc. I’ll admit, on paper Canelos resume looks great, in reality, his career has been full of shrewd business decisions.
