Theres TWO different forms of rugby (union and league) which are essentially separate sports taking 99% of HW sized athletes in the UK. As for the height thing, theres literally a position in rugby union (lock) occupied exclusively by people of basketball player height. Guys like Fury and AJ are drawn from a miniscule pool in comparison.

And beyond all that, all these excuses fall apart for the simple fact that the US has far more active HWs than Britain anyway. Nearly 8x as many according to Boxrec.

Apparently basketball and American football didnt exist before like year 2000 as well...lol

The excuses (from a country of 330 million no less, ie the largest first world country by a factor of more than double) are honestly just sad.

LOL you're saying this as if an American didn't literally hold the title for five years and another one (Mexican tbf) beat one of the title holders 18 months ago. US heavyweight boxing has indeed fallen off, but I dont think its yet time to make out as if any one country has a stranglehold on talent.

American heavyweights are non-existent because American big men have the option to go to football and basketball, two sports which pay infinitely more than boxing and come with a bachelors degree since you have to go through university. Not just the money from contracts but a lot more money from sponsors as well. A 6’4-6’7 athlete in the USA is a forward in basketball and a defensive or offensive end in football. A 6’1-6’3 is a guard in basketball and a myriad of positions in football. All over 200lbs. Mike Tyson was built like an offensive back in football.
British big men really have no other option save maybe rugby but rugby players are not as tall as both American big men sports.
You’ll probably never see American heavyweights at the pre 2000 levels again. Anything that was light heavyweight and up is now in football or basketball, particularly black Americans who are the majority of both sports. Why take a chance at boxing and maybe make a couple of mil at the championship level of you get that far when you can make hundreds of mil in football, basketball, and certainly even baseball which pays better than them all.

Never said that. All i'm saying is the tired excuses for the US not dominating HW anymore are ****ing ridiculous. Its like some weird psychological inability to accept that America isnt entitled to automatically be the best at everything if only they "try".

Its not unreasonable at all that a fight between two Brits should take place in the UK, in a big stadium show (which they couldnt do in America), at a practical time for Europe where most of the viewers will be.

Fury fought the long reigning champ Klitschko in his own back yard as the underdog.

Daddy Hearn has already told everyone 1 fight will be a money grab site fee & the other would be in the UK.
Personally i think he'll money grab first or duck entirely & fight Usyk because of gate. I don't see Wembley full for another year so money first Aj & Eddie wont allow it.
