Fury fought the long reigning champ Klitschko in his own back yard as the underdog.
Fury fought the long reigning champ Wilder in his own back yard as the underdog.
That's for all the belts.
Aj hides behind his paper belts mandatories fighting old men, never fought a top 2 & Ruiz (his highest) was only number 3 because he rag dolled Aj xD
My point is every champ in history fight's cans in between legacy fight's. Hell Foreman fought 6 in one night. Aj has yet to have a legacy fight against a prime contender of his own generation. Ffs Mike Tyson is slaughtered for fighting 1old man in Larry Holmes at 38. But that's young for Aj xD
Define "prime contender"? arent Parker, Ruiz and Whyte considered top 5ish level opponents in their primes? do you believe Wilder beats all three? I dont.
You say he never fought a top 2 opponent but for one wasnt Wlad considered no1 or 2 when AJ fought him due to Furys absence? also you're conveniently leaving out that for a long time the "top 2" was AJ himself...and Wilder, who many believe ducked Joshua. If that was the case he wouldnt have much chance to fight the top 2 would he?
I give Fury the Wilder fights but again, theres the question of if Wilder ducked AJ and saw Fury as an easier fight due to his inactivity and perceived lack of power. Other than that Fury and Joshua both faced the same past prime Wlad like 18 months apart. After that Furys resume drops off to guys like Chisora and Hammer while Joshuas still has Povetkin, Parker, Whyte and Ruiz on it. So yes, the top end of Furys resume is better but AJs resume has more depth with less fights.
Also, Fury "retired" just as his countryman was gaining steam getting towards title contention, and didnt return until almost 3 years later when he almost immediately signed a multi fight deal with Wilder while AJ was already a few weeks out from a mandatory defence, Fury then basically left the UK completely, all of these things could possibly be perceived as suspect tbh. And while to his credit hes fought Wilder, hes also has been fighting opponents that Joshua would get universally crucified for facing, because for some reason hes not held to the same standard.Comment

Hmmm...give an example of some of the "silly things" that AJ has said. LOL...this should be interesting.AJ gets a lot of flack and unnecessary hate. I think he’s a genuine guy, albeit him saying some silly things at times. He bounced back from that loss against Ruiz and put on a brilliant performance, yet people manage to find reasons criticize him. Most of that hate comes from here in the US.Comment

Lol..you know these brits have no shame and are willing to say anything...no matter how silly and nonsensical it is.LOL you're saying this as if an American didn't literally hold the title for five years and another one (Mexican tbf) beat one of the title holders 18 months ago. US heavyweight boxing has indeed fallen off, but I dont think its yet time to make out as if any one country has a stranglehold on talent.Last edited by Fighter78; 12-04-2020, 09:23 AM.Comment

Both Fury & Wilder fancied themselves more against each other than going up against Joshua during that time etc
But the ball game has changed now, and the perception of Anthony Joshua's abilities seems to have lowered.Comment

I don’t think you’ll ever see any great American representation in the light heavyweight on up divisions. Anyone 175 and higher is really going to the most popular sports in the USA. You just can’t get the immature kids who just want to bash the USA out of nationalism or hood rat council estate low self esteem to understand it. They’ve never been to the USA and really don’t get the immense difference in culture. They don’t want to get it. But it’s good the more level headed educated types on here will understand it.Comment
