Canelo, Floyd, De La Hoya, Sugar Ray Leonard, and many other fighters who have or have had star power always negotiated in such a way that would give them an unfair advantage..

Unfortunately, history doesn't include such small details and oftentimes those details die with the people that can remember them.

Benavidez comments, while true, are going to come off as hater-talk.

He should make a mental note though:

STAY READY SO YOU NEVER HAVE TO GET READY!

Canelo fans last week: Canelo offered a fight to Plant, he better accept or he's scared, Plant is Canelo's clear top target

Canelo fans this week: Smith has known a long time that he's fighting Canelo, was always clear Canelo wanted to fight him next

Not unprofessional at all, he’s always in the gym. But for a guy with his physical dimensions, making weight can be a long process. It takes longer than 4 weeks to prepare for a fight.

Leonard fought the best fighters and young prime fighters in his division like Hearns and Benitez. Also killers like Duran and Hagler.

Delahoya fought Trinidad then moved up and fought Hopkins. Fought young unbeaten Mayweather.

Mayweather fought Corrales who was unbeaten and in his prime. Then moved up and fought the top guy at 135 without hesitation. In fact Mayweather fought fighters that looked good in their previous fights like Shane Mosley and Pacquiao.

Canelo's name doesn't belong on that list at all. He moves up only to fight the weakest and most vunerable of the belt holders and has never taken on an elite young unbeaten prime fighter unless they look bad like Smith did. That's his MO and there is no way around it.

                    you're full of crap bro

Austin Trout was unbeaten in his prime and nobody wanted to fight him
                    Jacobs was in his prime
                    Lara another fighter nobody wanted
Liam Smith was in his prime and undefeated

To try to act like Canelo ain’t the real deal and defend BS like Crawford Kell Brook is hilarious
