    Put yourself in his shoes...

You’ve been offered multi millions to face Canelo in a super fight.

Even though it’ll be a struggle with only 4 weeks, you’re still going to take the fight. It’s life changing money and a life changing opportunity.

It’s not an excuse it’s a reality. It has nothing to do with professionalism or anything like that, any 6”3 super middleweight would have this same problem.

      Smith stops him IMO.

      I don’t rate Benavidez. He’s one dimensional.

      Plant schools him too IMO.

You should be training for the number guy in around your weight. That’s what professional prizefighting is about. Especially when you have no fight lined up and had already negotiated a fight with said fighter previously.

I dont feel any sympathy. He either needs to be a pro and stay near his fighting weight or fight in a division where he can do that. Plain and simple.

I'm glad a Mexican person of note said this. Cause whenever someone else says it, it's you got something against Canelo, your biased, your a hater. Etc Etc. If you follow the sport you know exactly what I'm talking about. Canelo gets a lot of passes for his moves.. But all his fans say is "his resume his resume" the shìt is smoke & mirrors.

Maybe we'll see or read where Smith says he trained specifically for Alvarez. The articles that another poster referenced quoted him as saying he just wants someone to fight, and had dismissed the possibility of fighting Canelo because of his pending lawsuits.

Smith has been training for months

Of course training for a full camp when you know who you are fighting is much more beneficial so you can get the right sparring etc. but the same also applies to Canelo in this situation, so it is what it is.
