Yes, it was better when 45-yr old Foreman and 43-yr Larry Holmes were beating bums to become world champions. I guess the overrated Mike Tyson that never beat any top boxer is the best thing since slice bread. Lennox Lewis the best in the 90s got knocked out twice by two average boxers. And Holyfield the 2nd best in the 90s lost to Bowe whose career got ended by a bum and lost to an average boxer in Moorer.

F...uck out of here. This is the best era since the 70s!
Why do you keep saying Larry Holmes won a world title in the 1990’s?

      Which title did he win?

He defeated Butter Bean ,even though it was a 10/12 rounder he gets title of king of 4 rounders by default . Larry rode into the sun set after the grand prize was attained .

Yeah man, its goes colorline/UScentric. To just US-centric, to most the world except the commies, to the whole world finally has the ability to box if they like.

Jack Dempsey takes a huge hit, imo, because before him the tradition for the white or lineal champion was the fight the colored champions before the lineal became lineal champion. So while Jeffries, Hart, Burns, and Johnson to an extent can all be questioned because they did not or hardly fought black men as lineal champion they did fight not just black men, but the champions of the black alternative title.

          Jeffries whooped Peter Jackson

          Hart whooped Jack Johnson.

Burns I don't remember whooping a Police Gazette colored champion but I think we can all forgive that given he lost his title to one and is the man who broke the colorline proving TB was scared of no man.

Johnson, of course, whooped quite a few colored champs being a black man himself. I think today his record in under appreciated actually. Taking Klon***e in his 9th outing isn't just ballsy it's ****ing impressive. Klon***e was no joke despite his record.

Willard? Nada. US centric, whites only, didn't fight a colored champion before, during, or after, but it's hard for Jess to take a hit given no one ever though Jess was anything but the man at the time. Last of the hopes, no better than the first, Johnson just got old. Besides that though, he has a very US-centered record.

Dempsey? Shining light of the oldens isn't he? Meant to be an ATG, meant to be one of if not the hardest p4p puncher of all time. Dempsey the unstoppable juggernaut of history fought no colored champions ever, not before, not during, not after his reign. Dempsey the world crusher fought one Canadian White Hope who never made it, One French White Hope who never made it, and an Argentine who never made it.

Ironically, or maybe rather su****iously, all three of these foreign challengers have losses to colored world champions.

Arthur, after becoming World White HW champion during the Johnson era, got passed around by the colored champions like a whore. Losses to Mcvea, Jennette, Norfolk, Jim Johnson, the works.

Carpentier, the very first White champion of the Johnson era, was losing to colored champions before he was a white champion. Dixie Kid and Jeanette both took him out.

Then there is Firpo who got his ass kicked by the main man Dempsey ducked; Wills.

Not to mention all the time guys like Leo Flynn called Jack on ducking guys like Norfolk or Jack himself admitting to ducking Langford.

I know a lot of history buffs would put Dempsey ahead of Fury but I'm not sure I'd even put him above Wilder let alone the man who beat him. It's funny to me he usually gets the nod in Dempsey vs Marciano but I'm quite, quite sure Rocco steamrolls this well protected hypejob of an ATG. Just right through him.

But even by Marciano-Lennox has a bit of a black eye cause commie boxing. 91 might be the fall of the USSR, but that's not fair to say they should have a champ by 92. Vitali in 99 is pretty damn impressive I reckon. For a nation just allowed in not even a decade ago.

I love me some Marciano, Ali, Lewis, so on, especially Holyfield in the 90s, but even though they were badass they were hardly the world champions Wlad, Vitali, Wilder, Joshua, Fury, etc are.

I still put Marciano above most but I couldn't argue with someone saying a lot of the world was out of boxing then so he's not really a world champion.

Which is why Fury destroys all the "best" men he faces.

He deserves better opposition, Not a bum like Wlad, Wilder or AJ.

I agree big man got some skills and smooth feet for a monster. Always been a fan of Fury, he is a true student of the game.

Maybe Joshua has some skill but it’s isn’t like Fury. Other than that everybody is sloppy
