Nobody is best ever you fool they sportsman selling their wares and they laugh all the way to the bank, you are so far down the rabbit hole of celebrity hate you got no idea whats real in the ring which is all that really matters.
No intelligent person can hate a celebrity they will never know only a simpleton could get so deep into hate, they can dislike whats spoon fed them and portrayed by the hype and media machine, but to hate at your level is weirdo stuff.Comment

There was a report on this site that he was "cautiously" testing the waters and his intention of going up to lightweight the next year. The report was talking about how careful he was when chosing his opponents. It was many years ago, but I always remember it.Wrong.
He fought Augustus because he was coming off a lay off and was an intended tune up. It nothing to do with testing the waters at 135. The fight wasn’t at 130 because Floyd couldn’t make 130 easily after the lay off.
When he did make his actual move to 135 he fought the best fighter at 135 for his first fight.
Your narrative is nothing close to reality.
This "layoff" you mention it was just under 7 months. For his previous fight, he had another "layoff" of just over 6 months. In fact he was getting into that 4-5 month between fights category, and then the 2 fights a year category. When he fought (and lost to) Castillo, his return with him was not for another 8 full months.
Of course, the time between fights depended A LOT on how good an opponent was, some of those were not so good...He never took a fight where he didn't see a certain advantage for himself.
Look, you and I will always differ on this subject. You from fan adoration, Me from what I positively know for facts. There is no in-between, so let's DROP IT.Comment

I despise Floyd Mayweather Jr. He's a massive wanker. But christ he can Box. ALWAYS wanted him to lose but ended up in awe of his ability when he won. Super gifted fighter.Comment

Without the vegas judges i think he's quite good but not that really good because he can't deal the likes of Castillo, maidana level in his prime.Comment

I just wish that floyd didn't duck the prime pac and never go on a temporary vacation when the welterweight division has full of threat.Comment
