Something called the WBC Frontline Battle Belt will be at stake for the scheduled event, which will be contested in eight two-minute rounds on November 28 live on Triller Pay-Per-View from Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Roy's opinion matters just as much as Floyd's. Maybe even more

I don't think Roy had a bad iq but he more heavily relied in his natural talent (which includes athletiscm) to win fights.
I don't think Hopkins has the full package either He is a cerebral fighter (IQ)--looking to outsmart and outthink his opponents, but he lacks the athleticism. Mayweather is Hopkins (IQ)+Roy(Athleticism). Mayweather and Hopkins can fight into a later stage, though, but Roy, not so much. Mosley is like Roy as well, but with a better chin. Mosley has no IQ, and survived on pure athleticism. When all of his (Mosley) athleticism was gone he became a sitting duck.

*edit. He did become undisputed at Light Heavyweight upon me checking which is pretty big. It wasn't a strong Era he fought in but he deserves.credit for that..

Roy could not adapt for the Calzaghe fight.
Calzaghe made Roy looked basic. He was not setting traps, he was Jabbing properly, and he couldn't cut off a ring to save his life. When he fought against low level fighters he was able to use his athletic ability to overwhelm them, but not with good technical fighters.
That's what made his style work. If you have no reflexes at the age of damn near 40, you don't just learn a new fighting style.
I stand by my previous statements.

All he needed to do give his take on the multiple belts, but instead he took a dig at Floyd's career when Floyd never took a dig at his. Talking about he's old school and goes after all the belts, which is not even a valid argument, because if he's from the school then there was really one champ per weight class then, which meant less fringe belts; and, this is what Floyd wants boxing to revert back to.
Had Roy started talking about Floyd unprovoked, you may have something but you don't. You're just being a Floyd fanboy.
No surprises there.Last edited by Boxing Goat; 10-30-2020, 03:32 PM.

I guess he just wanted to take the time to take a jab at Floyd but Floyd is not wrong about all the Belts. This is something that has been posted on this forum repeatedly about how Ridiculous the WBA and WBC are with all those Belts all just to collect Fees and make $$$ and even WBC President Suiliman recently came out and admitted that is was about the $$$

How you beat prime Roy was you timed him, he was too fast and hit too hard to exchange with him so you time him and Floyd would’ve done it!

Watch that fight again and see how Roy did every single thing wrong. Dude couldn't even cut off a ring to save his life. He couldn't adapt, couldn't set traps. He just followed Calzaghe around the ring getting picked off.

Talent is more or less a gift from God to have an ability to do something, not something learned , then honed and perfected. Which is what Floyd did. Fanboy alert lol
