I guess he just wanted to take the time to take a jab at Floyd but Floyd is not wrong about all the Belts. This is something that has been posted on this forum repeatedly about how Ridiculous the WBA and WBC are with all those Belts all just to collect Fees and make $$$ and even WBC President Suiliman recently came out and admitted that is was about the $$$

Floyd ,cant throw with roy as roys cominations are far superior. Roys reflexes are just as good , and roy hand two handed power .

Floyd would have to fight this fight with a high guard as he absolutely could not fight roy in a philly shell off the back foot .

Floyd never fought anyone on roys skill ,iq or speed level. Throw in that roy was so unorthodox and that roy never lost in his prime .

Talent is a package consist of ring IQ, chin, stamina, athleticism. Roy had the Athleticism, but not the IQ and chin. Roy would go wild and throw multiple punches and overwhelm opponents, but in a fight, say, against Calzaghe, he was exposed for having low boxing IQ. Watch that fight again and see how Roy did every single thing wrong. Dude couldn't even cut off a ring to save his life. He couldn't adapt, couldn't set traps. He just followed Calzaghe around the ring getting picked off.

I don't think Hopkins has the full package either He is a cerebral fighter (IQ)--looking to outsmart and outthink his opponents, but he lacks the athleticism. Mayweather is Hopkins (IQ)+Roy(Athleticism). Mayweather and Hopkins can fight into a later stage, though, but Roy, not so much. Mosley is like Roy as well, but with a better chin. Mosley has no IQ, and survived on pure athleticism. When all of his (Mosley) athleticism was gone he became a sitting duck.

Roy was all reflexes and speed with poor fundamentals. That is why he got clocked when he got older, both failed him as he got older. But when I saw Roy get dropped for the 1st time, that’s when I thought, this will happen more often as he gets older. And he did later on with Tarver, Maccarinelli, Lebedev, Green, and Johnson.

Never understood why Roy skipped over cruiserweight. He could have easily scooped up a title there on his way up or down and been a five division champ.

Yeah 100%. He should have never went back to 175 and should have just stayed at Cruiserweight till retirement.

Or a cash out fight against a real HW champ and ride off into the sunset after that. I love Roy, but Ruiz was garbage.
