Shortest way for me to say this:

Notability isn't possible during his era. Not even Marciano is very Notable during Marciano's era.

No worries bro, I see you've paid attention to your boxing too and don't get caught up in fanboy narratives. I think fanboys in general are way too common here, impossible to talk to them.

His era was filled with primarily past prime guys was my point. The next era came quick as things played out, but I think if he'd have stuck around a couple more years we'd have better knowledge about how good Rocky was based on how fights with Floyd & Sonny went.

Eh, the same arguments used against Rocky here would've been used in his favour if he had lost to those guys. He retired at the perfect point in his career, totally on top and after beating an undisputed legend to solidify himself as one.

Thanks man. Unfortunately it is like 90% of the posters on here.

I try to just call it like I see it and go from there. I may be wrong sometimes but I don't have an agenda. There are many great fighters from all backgrounds so no need to overhype a guy, or take shots at some guys, just because you like/don't like them.

Some people on here just get all their self-worth tied up in their favorite fighters and they can't call a fight accurately if their life depended on it.
