Why doesn't Margarito hop off Floyd's nuts and fight the guy(s) that called him out. Floyd wants Margarito to get more popular and beat more people worth mentioning so when they fight more money can be made.

Floyd probably just wants Baldomir so he can take his belt.

Oh yeah and Sharmba Mitchell was a tune up for welterweight. I don't know who else he would have fought just jumping to a new weight class.

"To be pound-for-pound, to be mentioned in the same breath as Sugar Ray Robinson and Sugar Ray Leonard, you have to have done great things in boxing," Mayweather said. "For him, he held a title at 147, then went to 154, failed, came back down, fought a couple cab drivers, and now he's in line to fight Floyd Mayweather? It doesn't work that way."

perfectly said. Margarito hasn't done **** and is hoping to cash in on one big payday

do people really believe this? Zab ko'd Spinks and Baldomir beat Zab, we're getting the fight everyone should want to see. Baldomir is huge at welter and think this can be an interesting fight.

Hmmm, I wonder why he would fight Sharmba (a speedy, southpaw welterweight) first.

Jeez, I can't figure it out.

A year ago, Mayweather would have said the same things about Baldomir that he's saying about Margarito. The difference is, Margarito took out Manuel Gomez, and Baldomir, in the same time frame, has taken out Judah and Gatti. Margarito is supposed to fight on a doubleheader with Cotto in December. If Margarito's people can't get him in an attractive fight then to give Mayweather something to be attracted to, then they only have themselves to blame. Margarito should have taken the hint a long time ago and tried to force the issue instead of simply waiting for Mayweather to come around. Margarito has not done enough to be irresistible to Mayweather. Meanwhile, Baldomir has become the welterweight champion, and even if Mayweather feels he will beat Baldomir easily, to achieve the welterweight championship is something that attracts Floyd and something he knows will shut people up.

The depressing fact of this is, regardless of what you think of Baldomir, if Mayweather beats him, Mayweather is undeniably the welterweight champion having beaten the man who beat the man. I don't like it, but I can't argue with it.

Well what would we expect but a lot more of bull****s. Of course he would be protecting his ducking ass.

He said we're not supposed to be looking at Baldo's records and yet he is insulting Margarito's record and accomplishment. but that is after admitting her refused the $8 Mil

He doesn't care what the critics says but he's fighting for stature?

                Bwawawawawawawawawawa!

This guy is desperate to save face.

At this point regardless of what Mayweather does Margarito needs to take and win a tough fight, otherwise mayweather will never fight him. He needs a solid win versus a recognizable opponent such as Collazo or maybe even Spinks, God i hope he could get in there with Spinks, but without being too specific he needs to do that. Spinks would actually be perfect though because he would then knock off the guy who looks to be the february opponent.

But i agree with you guys, he needs to do something soon, but i still believe that he would be the toughest fight for floyd mayweather outside of maybe Winky Wright.

Well that would mean you're crazy if you look at this the wrong way. He's saying, ignore the fact that Baldomir has lots of losses, instead look at what he has done recently and such. Then he says don't look at Margarito's record because there's nobody on it, despite it only having 1 loss.

Why? Margarito hss long been off PBFs nuts. He's already looking for other fights. PBF just can't stop talking because he needs to respond to the heavy criticism he is getting from almost all quarters ib this sport.

That's what happens when you have a big mouth and you can't back up what comes out of it.
