Sadly it's reality. If Margarito loses then he can forget about all his dreams. He'd be losing his only chance for recognition.

Does Floyd need great excuses anytime some random challenges him? Arum made Margarito seem like Jesus Christ in a matter of months, and so many people bought it.... it's quite saddening really.

We don't know what other problems in the 8 million dollar deal there was.
the date was not an issue, Arum said the offer was good for november 4th after a while of just offering october 8th, i think mayweather just took the fight he feels he can win easily, still make good (although most likey a bit less) money, and set up his clash with DLH ad Mosley. Not the best for the fans but best for his financial security and so called legacy.

NO really, he doesn't need great excuses. What's screwing him up are the same words that came out of his mouth. In fact he doesn't have to talk trash at all, but he's doing it that's why he is getting the backslash.

Trashing other fighters boosts ratings my friend. How often do you see two fighters having a nice conversation before their fight? Think about how well Tyson did long after he was burned out. The more the fans hear, the more interested they are. Look how many people are talking about Floyd all over the internet. He's got people interested and he doesn't give a damn if its negative as long as you buy his fights.

well that makes sense if you trash him than fight and beat him, but not for a guy you have no intention of fighting. There was an offer so lucrative you would have thought he would have taken it because he could have shown how bad margarito is and pick up a quick buck.

also he's not even trash talking baldomir, as of yet. If its going to boost ratings thats only in nearly even fights when trashing a fighter wont truly bring out the fact that its a huge mismatch.

like all the **** he said about gatti, i thought it was true. The general public though, thought gatti was some kind of monster and thats why PBF could talk all his **** and not get called on the fact that gatti in fact isnt near his level.

Floyd has never said that he has no itention of fighting Margarito. He said that once Margarito beats ONE marquee fighter then they will fight. Once Margie beats a good opponent then imagine the anticipation of that fight. Floyd wins if Margarito loses (by his talk being right) or if he wins (by getting 10-12 Mil to fight him next year). How is this a bad thing for Floyd? Meanwhile the whole boxing world is talking about Floyd. No publicity is bad publicity... unless it involves a transvestite **********.

The best fighter of our generation is Oscar De La Hoya. He has crossed the lines of boxing fans and is a household name. The only few boxers in recent to have done that are Mike Tyson, Sugar Ray Leonard and Muhammad Ali and to some degree George Foreman with his grill lol.

Fraud will NEVER attain that type of household recognition like the aforemented LEGENDS!

I'd say that DLH is the biggest boxing name of our generation, but not the best fighter. He has fought the best but also lost to the best on a few occasions. He is no doubt an amazing fighter, but it's hard to call one guy the best. Floyd is the best RIGHT NOW. Thats not saying anything more than what was typed. You would not put your money on any other fighter than PBF from 154 down (Winky MAY be an exception). Love him or hate him, he is one of the best boxers you'll ever see. You say he won't ever get household recognition, but look at this forum an all other boxing forums, he's all anyone is talking about.
