I don't agree with Whyte. Fury did the same thing when he swapped out his uncle for Davison and then Sugar Hill. Tyson needed a change in approach, and he got it done. People have been complaining about Deontay's skills for a long time, and Breland is the technical guy on that team, and we have seen no real improvement in Deontay for some time now. That may not have been Breland's fault completely, but when a coach cannot motivate a charge to change, it's time for a change...like with Andy Ruiz and Robles. So it's time for Deontay to bring in a coach who can take him to the next level. He will probably never have to fight a taller guy with these skills ever again, and he needs some technical advice from someone he can trust who can motivate him to change for the biggest fight of his career.

He should have kept Breland got rid of Jay Deas.
I don't know how Deas still has a trainer's licence after what he said about letting Wilder go out on his shield. Knowing when to pull his fighter out of a fight to save him from unnecessary punishment, and being ready to do it, is one of the most vital aspects of a boxing coach's job.Comment

I understand your points here, but I'm wondering what role Jay Deas plays in Wilder's team, apart from being a yes man, which is the last thing a fighter needs if he wants to improve his game and avoid unnecessary injuries and trauma.I don't agree with Whyte. Bc that is his main "yes" man. We knew he had to find a scapegoat to protect his fragile ego from telling him that he is not the next coming of God and sadly the only guy who knows boxing in his corner is the fall guy. Whyte changed his team before his loss, not after. He wasn't blaming anything on anybody. He just changed it up. Everybody knows why Wilder is getting rid of Breland. His book of excuses has said enough. Sad that a grown man has to blame somebody else for his failures like a child just to make him feel better about himself.Comment

Dillian Whyte, just needs to focus on Povetkin 'I have no idea why he is concerned with Wilder's business etc'.Comment

He is doing the same thing he did prior to the first fight, running his mouth about other boxers and look how that worked out for him. He is too dumb to learn that his focus should be 100% on a crafty vet like Povetkin.Comment

I agree, Wilder hasn’t improved in years and he should learn from someone else. He also needs to get a new conditioning team because when he put on more weight they unnecessarily put more muscle on his upper body which was already fine, his legs could use 10 to 15 more lbs of muscle. He seems to like having yes men around and in the history of sports, that has never helped any athlete. TheComment
