offtopic but povetkin vs ortiz would be a fking nice fight. why don't the pbc boss's chase down those type of fights? instead we'll get ortiz vs molina/brezeale etc.

Dude, you make excellent points! But from what I see, Brelands style as a pro is all over Wilders performances with the exception of the mallet.
They both have the same wire lanky frame relying on throwing the jab and overhand right for most of the fight. Breland threw some jabs for me as he was explaining (vet brief) technique - and I was mesmerized(!) at how his form would lock/click into place when executed - watching the pro do his thing was a thing of beauty!!
But not to knock him, Breland needed more against certain guys and he didn’t seem to have it. And it’s one of the reasons why some past fighters reach a stalemate with the one they’re training whether they’ve fought professionally or not - I agree that’s not so important.
But as good as Breland did/does whatever he does - train or fight?! I don’t see Wilder gleaning anything else from him.
Aside from the leaning grappling tactics, Fury is a very good boxer, Breland ain’t got nothing significant enough for that. Btw, as good as he was, I don’t think Breland would’ve laid a hand on Mayweather...again IMO.Comment

People don’t have an issue with Wilder changing trainers, it’s the reason that people have an issue with.
Yes, Wilder hasn’t improved for long time, but everyone knows that’s not the reason Breland is getting replaced. Wilder could replace Breland with Jesus himself and even he can’t teach Wilder how to box.Comment

Malik Scott wasn't a title holder, but he was a boxer."I think it's the worst mistake he's ever made, because Mark Breland is the only person in his team that actually was a boxer and actually was a world champion. He was the only person that didn't care about money or fame," Whyte said to Sky Sports.
Idk that having a pro boxer & title holder in your corner necessarily makes you better doe. Not saying it hurts either to be clear.
And idk how Whyte has a clue what the influences of anyone else is to speculate about why they might be there. As far as I recall Deas was with Wilder from Day 1 or close to it back a decade & change ago. Seems weird if he's been about money & fame when the money & fame just came about in the last handful of years. A patient money & fame guy maybe idk.
I feel like Whyte just enjoys the sound of his own voice.
Randomly does Whyte do any commentator work in the UK? Someone probably needs to hire him for that he digs giving his stances. Or at least he needs to start a podcast.
And randomly if anyone is a boxing podcast dork like myself Showtime Shawn gots a podcast with a couple friends now called the Porter Way. Worth a listen.Comment

Christ, imagine if Whyte was really on Tyson's ****list. If Wilder can bug him this much Tyson would keep him up at night.
