From a guy who isn't as shallow as a lot of you guys in sports let me tell you the simple reason why boxing is dying.

    Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Cuz everyone wants to be him and everyone wants to make all the money they want. You guys elevate boxers above the sport and fanboy them so hard that you kill your own sport. You guys enjoy the drama FAR more than you actually enjoy the fights.

No other sport is like this INCLUDING UFC because more often than not the best end up fighting the best.

Look at all of you. How many of you actually laced up gloves and have participated?

The learning curve is high in boxing and with reduced numbers, popularity, and exposure what do you really expect?!

Its freaking hilarious reading all these thread titles everyday. You guys ask the weirdest **** and talk about even stranger ****.

That is the smartest thing anyone has mentioned. The passing of the guard was passed with the making of this fight. By May doing this fight, it felt like it was boxing exiting the popularity contest and giving it to the UFC. Since 08 it has felt that it was inevitable for this to happen. Many where blinded at how the eye balls where shifting away and then look at where those eyes balls are now.

Reports were the fight needed 200k to be profitable with what the Charlo’s were guaranteed.
No way it was getting close to that.
Better than people were projecting but a flop nonetheless.

Pretty much. Plus Ultimate Fighter started around that time and was a huge success. Then obviously Brock signing a few years later was another major profile boost.

The issue is the product. Even though the Charlo’s stepped up competition.....nobody cares about boxing.

Boxing always coming out with excuses and it won’t get better for any of these future PPV stars. What other PPV fights can Charlo’s,Tank and even Spence make after their PPv fights in 2020?

Nobody at 160 is a ppv opponent other than Canelo and GGG.

154 nobody is ppv material as well.

Tank Davis won’t fight anybody in the top 15 in whatever division he wants to campaign. If it isn’t against Lomochenko,Lopez,Garcia,Haney nobody will care and even if he does fight those guys none of them are PPV material as well haha

Spence as well has no dance partner other than Crawford. I don’t want to see a rematch with Porter for the love of god that fight was sloppy in the 2nd half.

Not a PBC hater but the PBC model of making stars is terrible.
Yeah. There are more than 120k boxing fans in the US. If you give them a worthy PPV to purchase, something with big hype, big names, the PPV will sell no matter what else is on. I personally knew about the Charlo PPV’s and had no clue there was a UFC event and forgot there were NBA games going on (I don’t follow it anyway). I was completely available to buy the PPV, it just wasn’t worth it.

120k is ok for fighters to earn 3 or 4 million and that’s about it...it’s when you have ginger nuts who expect 30 million with 475k ppv buys are the problem.
What was ginger nuts numbers against rocky fielding ? Lol

100 to 120 is about right, I'm sure showtime was very aware they were gonna lose money on this, they had to do it to even pay the charlos, I'm predicting spence vs Garcia does somewhere from 225 to 250 thousand buys

Canelo was on DAZN for the Fielding fight and DAZN doesn't do PPV, genius.
