Look at the WBA Regular lineage:

Now look at the lineage of the WBA Super belt:

They were never legit champions bro. Kinda weird for fighters of their caliber.

You have to treat the WBA Regular belt as some sort of interim belt.
Incorrect. The WBA only specifies "Regular" when there is a Super champion. When Maidana won the belt, there was no Super champion. He was the full WBA champion, but he wasn't "Super" champion because the only way to be Super champion is to beat a current Super champion, unify, or defend a WBA belt five times. Floyd became Super champion by beating Maidana for the WBA title in a unification. The title was elevated to Super because it was unified with another belt.

There are four "Levels" of WBA champions
      WBA (Super)
      WBA
      WBA (Regular)
      WBA Interim

Maidana was simply WBA champion, which is a full title. Not (Regular), which is what he was at 140.

I agree. They were really exciting and made every penny worth it. I just can't fathom the idea that they didn't win a legit world title.

          Wrong.

Maidana was the full WBA Champion at 147.

Floyd was not the Super Champion. Nobody was in 2013.

He doesn't understand the difference between the WBA and the WBA (Regular).

Nor does he realize Mosley was stripped of the Super title and no new Super champ was crowned until Floyd beat Maidana.

              Right.

Pauli Malignaggi won the full WBA from Senchenko and then Broner won it off Pauli and Maidnana won it from Pauli.

As far as I understand, they are both the same belts at boxrec. Same lineage, same belt.

You don’t understand and don’t have the context outside of Boxrec.

There was no Super Champion at 147 until Floyd and Maidana fought in 2014.

Marcos Maidana was the full WBA Welterweight champion prior to that. Not regular Champion.

                      Both were champs

mathysse was the boogeyman at 140 he destroyed Lamont Peterson when he had some hype and alotta ppl feel he got screwed in the Danny Garcia fight.

Maidana should have a win over Floyd too in the first fight.
