    Yeah right..

HISTORY tells us that Goldenboy REPEATEDLY wins in court, they have the best legal team in CA. CA contract law protects the company, GBP has perfected this, Canelo ungrateful azz would have been left if he could.

    HISTORY also tells hs CANELO
LOSSES in court, he was forced to pay All star Boxing a major judgement.

DAZN is a multi billion dollar company with many strong attorneys, they know what they’re doing.

Lol didn't GBP lose to PBC in court

I dont understand how people aren't rooting for Nelo on this one

But I do feel Nelo has the upper hand, GBP probably violated the Ali with the GGG promised fight, DAZN with the contracted pay, the pandemic excuse wont work theres fights still going on, this is all on DAZN overpaying fighters and not living up to there contract,

Mikey beat Top Rank and he wasn't even that famous not much leverage, look how great Mikey has done from moving on

I hope they at least grant him to fight outside of GBP and DAZN

      • Dont get why this is a big surprise. It's an easy breach of contract, they will either pay him for the fight he picked at what hes due or he will sue and get his money. It's not that complicated.. this is on DAZN alone. They didnt live up to their end of their bargain, they gave him his options and he picked one.

Nobody wanted to see that fight. It certainly wouldn't have been worth what DAZN paid for Canelo.
I've always been suspect of DAZN. I don't think they knew what they were doing when they acted on their flawed business model and presented Canelo with the most lucrative contract in pro sports history. It's their fault they're being sued if they did indeed try to manipulate the terms of the contract including per fight guarantees but Canelo is still being greedy and clearly cares more about getting every penny while strategically chooses his opponents than continuing his career in the ring. Sure he only wants what he claims he's owed but his priorities are clear. Money comes before everything else even if you're already ****** rich. It is what it is.
You need to understand how splits work.

DAZN was only going to pay $17mil to Alvarez for either BJS or Smith; with both of those British clowns (being advised by Hearn) to settle for $5mil even AFTER the pandemic started its post phase. $17mil:5mil

That’s a huge split to BJS and Smith.

Keep in mind there were names like Johnson, Quigley, Ryder, Lemieux...whom all would want their offers yet denied (non-approved) by DAZN. That’s GBP giving the options to DAZNz. When Team Canelo saw that Oscar wasn’t willing to get a fight on DAZN, he was told - as industry reports - that alternative broadcasters may have been a solution which would also include new names on the list. That is why the WBC did Oscar the favor to inform that Canelo COULD fight for the 168 title. There’s no penalty to Alvarez should he not get the WBC fight because he was never in a position or narrative for that belt. DAZN still does not approve of Yildirim or this chance for a title fight. Johnson, Ryder, Lemieux, Quigley weren’t for belts. The Yildirim approach wouldn’t involve Matchroom as well.

This is a massive lawsuit that was building up for months. Don’t assume chronological timeline FOR DECISIONS just because industry reports it as such. So when people say “Canelo wants Yildirim” aren’t even comprehending the circumstances to begin with and all the politics involving the promoters and the network. It’s a $280mil lawsuit. lol. That speaks for itself and wasn’t just recently conspired out of thin air after the Yildirim news...

From what I understand, the Szeremeta was planned pre-pandemic and I imagine they signed off on it for the reasons you initially stated - give him an easier fight for him to look impressive while waiting for the Canelo fight. There was talk of the Szeremeta fight taking place in Kazakhstan which may have included a significant site fee (I don't know).

I would guess all of that changed when it became readily apparently that Canelo wouldn't fight GGG and the pandemic further accelerated the financial mistakes DAZN has made.
GGG said that he made the commitment to fight Szeremeta before the pandemic, and that he will "keep his word" and fight him before fighting Canelo again. That was back in May! I assume DAZN doesn't have a problem with that?

I think Callum Smith is a real threat to Canelo (BJS not so much), but those guys do not rate at all with GGG with regard to their name value. DAZN is not trying to make competitive fights that don't sell subscriptions.
So GGG vs. Szeremeta will sell subscriptions?

                • No Oscar, BJS and Callum Smith are NOT premium opponents when it comes to marketability. It's that simple.

Oh, and have you heard about the pandemic?

PS ODH looking less and less like Golden boy, and more and more like a fat Mexican. Gotta hit the gym before you get passed the point of no return...
