As a matter of fact, I had Montell Griffin winning the first Jones fight for this very reason. Griffin was able to get in and land punches on Roy before he could counter him.
Are we just going to pretend like Roy Jones wasn’t clearly moments away from stopping Griffin in the first fight and blasted him out in 1 round in the second fight?

You saw an old Hopkins who was still a world level fighter do what he wanted with a shot to pieces Roy Jones. Why would that have any bearing on anything?

They fought in 1993 and Roy Jones beat him easily.

Clearly Hopkins wasn't in his prime in 1993 or are you saying he was and he was still in his prime 15 years later lol

When did I say he was in his prime in 1993?

          Hopkins prime was around 2001

Prime Jones (summer of 97) would toy with Golovkin and do whatever he wants and that wouldn’t be a damn thing GGG could do about it. Prime Jones was a freak athlete who was above conventional technique. And make any excuses you want for iv drip Toney and green Hopkins but fact is, Jones beat them both in 93/94 so let’s not talk like he didn’t face anybody of note.

Timing! Tarver had Excellent TIMING so he was able to Clip Roy during an exchange and I think that is how you have to deal with Speed you have to get them in exchanges because they feel because of their Speed they can beat you to the punch which most times they can but then when they have all that speed a lot of those fighters do neglect their Defenses during exchanges leaving themselves open to get CLIPPED

                Timing is Speeds worst Enemy...

Now of course this wasn't Prime Roy, he was 35 vs Tarvers who was also 35 but still, Tarver was BIG, Southpaw with very good timing as a excellent Counter-Puncher and had good Defense

                      Ok? And?

Hopkins wasn’t prime but he was still a world level fighter and not long removed from being a P4P fighter.

Roy Jones was shot to pieces and hadn’t won a legitimate fight in about 8 years.

                      So, what is your point?

They fought in 1993, and Roy Jones beat him easily.
