I agree it was not a lucky punch. It was a well planned, well timed and well placed beautiful punch that Whyte never saw. Povetkin has been knocking out most of his opponents for many years. It's not luck. He is good at knocking guys out.
It was not a lucky punch at all

So you think they accidentally chose good heavyweights, but they were aiming for the Tom Schwarz's of this world?
Don't be silly. Of course they thought AJ and Whyte would win. As did the vast majority on here and everywhere else. But the same people, including Matchroom, also said they were high risk, competitive fights worthy of getting fans to open their wallets.
Both were upsets. Against the odds. But boxing people knew that both were live fights.
To think that Matchroom thought they were getting Pianeta instead of Povetkin is just dumb.
Again, your advice to Matchroom seems to be to pick nobodies and almost guarantee the win. That's what you want? And you wouldn't criticise them for that?Comment

Povetkin not getting enough credit, he is old as **** and he came up from the side like that and did that hook upper cut thing, caught him cold, hell no that is not a lucky punch that was very crafty and he deserves all the credit for sparking out one of the what top 5 guys at his age.Comment

It would be really nice for Povektin to retire, go out on an awesome win like that but we know Whytes people will be desperate for the rematch and give him a financial offer he cant refuse, they know they need to win the rematch to setup a lucrative fight with him and one of the big 3. If he dont get the rematch his career ***ed.Comment

Povetkin jabbed to induce Whyte to counter with a right but Povetkin had already slipped it. I think Whyte realized but couldn’t stop himself. When he extended that weak counter to nowhere, I think he already knew he was phcked.Comment
