Taylor did clean work when she did land, but she landed so infrequently, it's hard to score more than four rounds in her favor. Persoon missed a lot, but she also landed her share of shots and certainly landed more total punches than Taylor. If workrate means nothing, then we have to call into question some of Shawn Porter's best wins. I understand a lot of you fan boys just love Katie and gulp down Eddie's Kool Aid by the bucket, but the facts are hard to deny -- you don't win rounds with lateral movement and 1-2 "WOW" shots per round. Unless you're a house fighter on a Matchroom card on Eddie's front lawn.

Very hard to score fights when your mind is made up with a preconceived narrative and you harbor nationalist biases. Be honest -- does Katie make it beyond Round 5 vs. Amanda Serrano? Answer when the cider buzz wears off, please.Comment

I accept the previous criticisms of Taylor but I think she won 3 of the first 4 rounds and the last two win with a few flip the coins in between. At a minimum I'd give her a draw, potentially narrow win.
Persoon missed a lot. Id like to see punch stats but the pressure she put on had to count for something but I don't think she was any where near accurate enough.

I know you didn't just say "McCaskill". McCaskill does nothing but flail with her head down, hoping to land the occasional blind shot. Persoon actually does more clean work than Jessica and the decision last week was laughable, though I thought Braekhus looked a bit shopworn. You fellas should be glad that wasn't Amanda Serrano Katie was facing today. It would not have gotten close to going to the cards. Eddie knows this, which is why he played all kinds of mind tricks with Lou Dibella and Serrano's idiot "manager" (who happens to be her older sister's husband). She did many things but 'control' wasn't one of them.
She's a tough unit but Katie is an infinitely better boxer.
Personally I thought it was a crap fight. Person made it a wrestling match (her only chance).
Macaskill is obviously a much better boxer than Persoon, but I saw this week similar to last. I scored rounds to the better boxer rather than someone who 'wanted it'.
In fact I thought last week was a clearer win for Breakhus than this was for Taylor.Comment

I think MacCaskill is a bit better than you give credit for, and rate her boxing ability higher than Persoon.I know you didn't just say "McCaskill". Persoon is fit and brave and not much more. MacCaskill can box but wailed a lot last week.
To be honest, until they go to three minute rounds we won't find out much about them as fighters. These girls are fit and strong enough now. Two minute rounds can favour work rate and hide quality. Boxing is supposed to ebb and flow - you're supposed to need to take breaks and pick your moment to apply pressure. There are women who aren't making those choices at the moment. 20 minutes broken up into 2 minute chunks means they don't have to.Comment

KT will box Serranos ears off, Persoon is massive for the weight, Serrano is two weight classes lighter, it wont be easy but one sided win for Taylor imo. Serrano and her team know itComment
