I have no problem with people not caring about another man money and just following the fights. That's cool. You clinging to Conor earnings would be like a boxing fan clinging to Mayweather earnings (which complete dominate Conor). Economics in the fight game mean a ton which is why there is a lot of attention paid to it. I follow Basketball, Baseball and the NFL and I don't care at all about the money in that because that is not what solely drives the sport but money dictates everything in the fight game.

Conor is retired. Jon Jones wanted more money and Dana said you won't get Deontay Wilder money... He even went on to say that you will not get half of Deontay Wilder money.

One thing also is that Top level boxing matches gates are SIGNIFICANTLY higher than mma.

There really is no debate between who has the bigger gates and what sport stars are paid the most. These are just facts. I think mma/ufc blows boxing out of the water with certain things they do in reaching young fans and marketing on Social Media. But it's a young sport that is on a great path. It's just not "taken over" boxing in certain aspects and it has in certain other aspects for sure.
Boxers make more money at the top, because it is a democracy 'And they are basically self employed, meaning their earnings are unlimited' But the pay in the UFC is much more dependable, because the UFC is controlled by one entity? And the fighters are employee's of that company/entity, so there earnings are not unlimited like in boxing.

Boxing has higher participation levels, that is the true test of which sport is bigger 'Not money'. What makes a sport global is it's reach and participation levels 'The UFC is in terms of numbers is a small organisation, and Mixed Martial Arts is scattered all over the show'.

Does it have a well establish amateur program? It is not even in the Olympics, all it really has is the UFC 'And afew other organisations that are not really regulated'.

I'd say theres several factors, and thats one of the few that boxing has an edge in nowadays. Obviously the amateur scene/olympics is a huge contributor to this too.

I really wonder how long it will last though. Boxing will always have the olympics and strong ammy scene (MMA is not geared towards that and definitely wouldnt work in the olympics) but as far as pros go, at this point, you'd think a lot of people will have grown up with the UFC and that will be what they gravitate towards if they ever decide to compete.

It will just stay the same as it is now, I don't really see any combat sport rising up these days 'Society has change', but due to are primal interest they will always survive.

Even during this pandemic the UFC are moving right along matching the best against each other. Some Boxing fans bring up Boxers being paid more, but what relevance is that to the actual competition of the Sport? I come from an era where a fighter's purse was NEVER a point of discussion but fans now want to be accountants as well. Very strange time to be a Boxing fan.
Such a strange thing to see.

Boxing fans are the most insecure group of pvssies ever assembled in a sport. They feel so insecure about UFC, like it's a handsome guy hitting on their chick.

Well last night Khabib Nurmagomedov tweeted the undercard to his main event in October and its literally 4 fights with all killers in there. Theyre saying it might be one if the best cards of all time.
