DAZN being cheap, don't want to pay Canelo full price for next fight

Because industry likes to try and show power over GBP. I guess many forces don’t like how Canelo moves the needle for GBP and the possible machine for DAZN, so at the very least everyone plays hardball. Canelo must be infuriated that Oscar, Loeffer, and Hearn all schemed a GGG Trilogy thinking that Canelo would take the baitComment

Canelo/Kovalev generated just over $8M in gate revenue. The reason they postponed the start time to the dreadful 1:00 AM was to buy some time for subscriptions to surge. I don’t see how DAZN did not lose money on this, they had to pay out a minimum or $48 million for the purses.Comment

Either Canelo take this fight on shorts or risk DAZN going completely and permanently out of business. It's his choice. They are in near financial ruin and could use a loan to seriously pay off their debts.
Canelo understands the current climate we are living in. Without a live gate DAZN doesn't stand a chance of matching his guarantee.
The upside of this is it's only temporary and he is still working and has a job. That's more than what 40 million Americans can say.Comment

Dazn is dead broke.
The fact these fighters signed here and ruined their marketability is quite funnyComment

You're right. However, I just wonder how many subscribers do DAZN have remaining to help pay Canelo's guarantee with so many boxing fans worldwide being either unemployed or furloughed? I know I allowed mine to expire back in April without renewing it. $100 is lot to ask of boxing fans during this pandemic.Comment
