This is DAZN's opportunity to squeeze Canelo in more ways than one.

Force him into the fights that DAZN want - and not the soft touch ones that Canelo is looking for like Jack Ryder or that Japanese dude.

If Canelo goes on a losing streak, their subscribers drop and they can use that to break the Canelo contract and then force him to re-enter negotiations at a much lower price.

The golden rule is; who owns the gold makes the rules. This is a golden opportunity for DAZN to start courting other stars and building other stars. Putting their eggs in the Canelo basket was always a dumb move; he has no cross-over appeal and does not speak English. That immediately limits his marketability.

Yep. But DAZN entered into an agreement with Canelo.

If DAZN is being cheap here, then essentially every major sports organization is doing the same. Paycuts are everywhere - that's the world we're living in right now.

It takes revenue to pay bills - if revenue is down, the ability to pay bills is comprised. Basic economics.

All DAZN is doing is forcing Canelo Alvarez to fight Golovkin next in 2021.

After he makes the second biggest fight in boxing, the one that was supposed to kickstart the launch of their platform, I’m sure they’ll be much more reasonable with his opponent selection.

Right now they feel like they’re getting to many unknown European opponents and they’re not wrong about that.

So basically what you’re saying is you’re picking Canelo to beat Smith and BJS?! I couldn’t agree more

Tell me how they are supposed to get their money back in these quarantine times? You yourselves don't even want to pay for the fights you watch. Where will the money come from? Do you expect them to just waste their money for nothing?

                    You clowns sound silly.

DAZN should pay Alvarez what the contract states. Or let him pick whomever he wishes to fight for a lower price. According to DAZN, Alvarez should take a paycut due to covid, but DAZN can still keep subscribers' money even though they weren't broadcasting any fights?
