How anyone can watch MMA/UFC is literally beyond me.

Absolutely barbaric savage trash. Elbows, knees, kicks, choke-holds, body slamming, punching while your opponent is on the ground. Just terrible.

Boxing is truly the gentlemen's sport. Even though it is a brutal sport, it is much more civilized. You can only use your fists. You actually use the proper size gloves unlike those small ass "gloves" they use in UFC to maximize damage. The ref steps in if a fighter is hurt and gives him a standing 8. The ref then asks if he is able to continue. If he doesn't respond or his body language is saying no, the ref will wave the fight off right then and there.

Much more civilized than MMA where you take a knee straight to the face, end up on the floor while you are getting punched and the ref lets the fight go on.

If you don't have the skills and stamina in boxing to make it to the final bell, it's going to be a long fight. No kicking, knees, elbows and tackling to bail you out either.

    Pure trash.

    I'll watch any fight sport.

Boxing is my favorite but I enjoy bare knuckle, kickboxing, and MMA as well.

Yeah, boxing is my fave, but I’ll watch any combat sport. I’ve seen some great MMA fights.

Better question is how can you enjoy a combat sport and not enjoy the others? I love all fighting styles with boxing being the reason I fell in love with combat sports. Educate yourself about other combat sports while you are on your couch typing that they are barbaric trash

I only enjoy the MMA stand-up.... when it goes to the floor I lose interest.

Not saying it isn't skilled down there but it's boring as ****.

I used to think that 15 years ago, I suppose you have to fall in love with it like you originally did with boxing and appreciate the 'art' aspect of it. Like boxing, there are many things going on through a fighter's head as they gauge their cardio as well as their opponent's cardio and each other's strengths and weaknesses and implement their strategies and adapt as the fight goes on. Some of it is dumb savagery but we see this in boxing too with overmatched opponents.

I will say MMA has a problem with 'thuggery' moreso than boxing. I think it can and does often have a negative impact on society as people see their fighters acting like thugs and think that is acceptable. In the real world though there are guns and knives and no referee, actions do have consequences, but then you see fighters like Conor for example assaulting an old man in a bar.

EDIT: Boxing for life though, nothing else compares!

I always get the feeling that, ANYONE can win at any given time in Mixed Martial Arts.

The wrestling in my opinion creates a lot of fluke wins,
where the better fighter can sometimes lose 'Yes that is the effectiveness of wrestling but, it kind of distorts the sport'.

Note: I am actually have a keen interest in Olympic style wrestling as a solo sport.

Well, you have to pick your poison with MMA. It's either this:

                  Or this:

It's great. A very exciting sport. I love watching it. I am a boxing fan first but MMA is a close 2nd. It is different than boxing but the best of the ufc fighters are very good. They just have different skills than a boxer. Some of them are very good with their fists. not as good as the very best boxers but still very good. Just like boxing some fights are better than others. All things equal I like boxing best but I would rather watch a good ufc fight than a bad boxing match any day. I watch as much of both sports as possible.
