Boxing is truly the gentlemen's sport. Even though it is a brutal sport, it is much more civilized. You can only use your fists. You actually use the proper size gloves unlike those small ass "gloves" they use in UFC to maximize damage. The ref steps in if a fighter is hurt and gives him a standing 8. The ref then asks if he is able to continue. If he doesn't respond or his body language is saying no, the ref will wave the fight off right then and there.
Much more civilized than MMA where you take a knee straight to the face, end up on the floor while you are getting punched and the ref lets the fight go on.
If you don't have the skills and stamina in boxing to make it to the final bell, it's going to be a long fight. No kicking, knees, elbows and tackling to bail you out either.
Pure trash.
barbaric to you, because you don't understand it.
the rest of your post is just jibber jabber.

I think using elbows and kicks in a fight is actually very entertaining and intelligent. You take off the big gloves and a mans hands are actually one of the most fragile things on your body to actually use in a fight.
Boxing is a martial art (despite many people not thinking of it that way), mixed martial arts are simply implementing other forms of martial arts together.
You can say it's brutal I call it smart.
Also OP sounds like a flaming puss in his post.Last edited by MartialMind; 07-18-2020, 08:07 PM.

In the early days of the UFC, I couldn't follow the sport as their fighter roster looked like a ****** up volgswagen golf next to the Rolls Royce fighters of boxing. It's much more advanced now and their fighters are extremely skilled. Also, the new rules that were introduced in which refs can stand up fighters on the ground for non-activity has made it more exciting to watch.
There was some antagonism between boxing and the UFC the last decade, with fans and commentators each trashing the other, but that's mostly over now, with both organisations complementing each other well - the addition of AJ and Fury to the UFC 4 video game attests to this.
People blame UFC for the decline of boxing, but how can you blame an organisation that gives the fans what they want:
1. Top rank contenders fighting each other - absolutely no room for ducking or "marinating" fights in the UFC
2. Has a monthly event of their best fighters fighting - if this wasn't enough to satiate fans, they even have a UFC Fight Night
3. A TV show that is one of the best reality TV shows ever made charting the progress of new fighters
4. A low monthly fee to access literally thousands of fights and EVERY past UFC event one ONE network
UFC didn't steal boxing fans away, boxing just didn't adapt to the times. I'll always watch a boxing PPV over a UFC event, but UFC has become a regular watch in my household because boxing is just dire at the moment - you have to pay BT Sport, Sky Sports, Dazn just to stay current, just like when BT successfully bid for the premier league. Fans thought it would add more competitiveness and value. Nope - just two networks you have to pay for and they're both exorbitant.
Call Dana White a dictator, exploitative or whatever, but he's never forgotten about the fans or sold-out. You said UFC is boring, and Dana White has actually chastised fighters for boring fights openly and he was behind the recent rules. Give it another try, trust me, with time you'll fall in love with it and never miss an event.
