You seem to be missing the point that its MIXED martial arts. You dont train "MMA", you train wresting, BJJ, boxing, muay thai etc in an MMA context. Someone that has extensive previous experience in for example wrestling (which is widely considered to be the most imporant single aspect of MMA) is not some random bum off the street.

Using your own logic Lucas Browne was a 6-2 MMA fighter who at 30 switched to boxing after being KO'd twice in MMA, and ended up becoming a world champ and top 10 ranked fighter with wins over Chagaev, Toney and Rudenko. Jarrell Miller also managed to break the top 10 in HW boxing after being a marginal kickboxer who lost twice to an old Cro Cop who had recently been dropped from the UFC for being KO'd 3 times in a row. Artem Lobov has a literal losing record in MMA and managed to beat Malinaggi in a hands only fight. Clay Collard who was getting hype on here recently for upsetting prospects went 1-3 in the UFC and was going for desperation takedowns against Max Holloway because he was getting lit up in what was essentially an MMA boxing match.

****, Joshua and Wilder didnt start boxing in any capacity until they were 18/19. Both of them won olympic medals and world titles. Its not like your MMA examples either where you're listing guys who had previous extensive experience in another combat sport that is highly transferable to MMA. AJ walked into a boxing gym for the first time at a point where Wlad was champ, and then went on to beat that same Wlad for the belts.

Ray Mercer lucked into getting that 1 time out of 10 moment where a punchers chance will actually work. He also managed to get choked out by ****ing Kimbo Slice.

And yet even now in his mid 40s, having being retired for years, he would easily stop Fury, Joshua and Wilder in the same night in a combined 5 minutes or less.

Ah I see, so olympic medallist wrestlers and judoka, ADCC champions, K1 GP winners and the countless BJJ black belts and ex division 1 wrestlers are actually masters of nothing? lol.
Lucas Browne is the only example of someone becoming a world champion in boxing at such a late start... but he was actually stripped of that title for cheating. So he never won it technically. It was also the WBA "Regular" title, which we all know is complete horse ****.

Also; a World Champion boxer (real title) has become a UFC champion. The reverse will never happen.

Listen, I know you have a like for MMA, don't get me wrong.. some of the guys are good. I like Cody Grambart (sp). But it's not boxing and never will be boxing. It's just too... all over the place?

You can't have Elite Boxer level guys in MMA. The sport is just too much of a wrestling match. They're two entirely different sports but it'll never have the audience boxing has. When you have those top pound for pound guys that come along in boxing every few years, they're just on another platform.

Ronda Rousey relied completely on here judo skills and strength throughout her career, she was very good but her stand up was terrible. She got ****y and stood with the "ex boxer" ...who btw won by headkick, because that ex boxer was also an ex kickboxer and had years of MMA experience. So not sure what your point is. Bear in mind she was a world champion in boxing with a record of 33-2, in MMA shes 13-5 and has been beaten up standing multiple times.

Hows the boxer gonna win? lemme guess, with their superhuman footwork they will magically avoid having their lead leg chewed up with low kicks (even though actual trained kickboxer/muay thai/mma guys have to train/condition their legs to block the kicks because avoiding them is too difficult) ...or maybe they will throw a jab in the first 5 seconds and with their otherworldly punching power the air from behind the punch will KO the MMA fighter?

This is probably the kind of stuff that was going through Art Jimmersons head backstage at UFC 1 as he was strapping on his one boxing glove.

Obviously i'm talking about a kickboxing, muay thai or MMA rules fight where kicks can be used. Of course in a straight up boxing match he'd lose.

MMA is a baby compared to boxing.

They've not had the time to mature. Their boxing is ****, most of what they do they're **** at compared to the older and more refined specialized sport MMA makes up.

Idealistically MMA will eventually produce a man who can box as good as Louis, kick like Bonjasky, and roll like Gable.

Right now they're still figuring out how to get there.

Not gonna happen. Its impossible. The "master of none" stuff is still largely BS though. If you're a BJJ black belt, ADCC winner, division 1 wrestler, olympic medallist, K1 GP winner etc then you're obviously elite at one of the specialized aspects of MMA. And at the top levels there are fighters that have extremely well rounded skillsets that they put together brilliantly, not some amateurish glorified toughmen with rudimentary skills in a few things.

That may be true. Our own sport isn't born from exclusivity. It evolved into it. There used to be kicking, throws, holds, etc in boxing. There was even eye gouging at one point. We came to boxing as is by what works, or at least worked for them back then. It's a slow process, took us over 160 years. MMA is only what 30? Maybe they are working toward an exclusive like our boxing and just don't know it?

Many men wrestled in boxing, none of them were aware they were using techniques that would be obsolete in a hundred years. It's not like the boxers told the wrestlers their form of fighting is dying and you only have to look to the last LPRR champion who was never gloved champion for a wrestler in boxing.

I'm not saying wrestling is BS. I'm just saying it got kicked out out of this sport because it did not hold water against boxers.
