UFC is just different. As much as I pretend I can't stand it, they're times I accidently stumble upon it and find myself entertained.
The difference though I feel is like, boxing is a direct sport where you master 1 form of style. Because you are mastering 1 form, there will be levels to it and the elite are separate from the non-elite almost immediately.
In boxing, you can have your 1 punch shock KO loss, but I feel it's less frequent than in MMA where they're so many more chances to do something wild or unexpected to win. Some people like that more because it's the unexpected, but I like to know when you mastered something, you separate yourself from the rest. It creates those levels and tiers of experience and you can appreciate one working at the highest levels.
That said, people say, oh, MMA will be better for you in real life fighting. Honestly, I don't think it's much different than boxing in real life fighting, in that neither is going to matter, lol. When your in a real life fight where there are ZERO rules, anything goes, your wild swinging is about as effective as the other guys. Sure, some will have that natural knowing way of throwing a punch out of instinct while others are haymaker swinging and wild, but they may just abandon that and grab a chair. You never know when it comes down to street fighting, lol.

the good ol' 1-2 would be enough to stop any of those guys
