Floyd is older than Manny, and was WAY farther past his prime when they fought. And he won easily.

I’m with you. How long is someone’s “Prime” anyway? Is it an age thing? Or a perceived at the height of their powers? Can people have longer “Primes” than others? Geezuz people say Tyson’s Prime was 19-21yrs old. How often other than Mike is someone’s prime that young? And how many people have achieved enough notoriety and earning power at that age? This is prize fighting. It’s about money. A lot of fighters are worth more money on the down side of their skills because their name is has been around longer and they’ve had big fights. No fighter can fight all his opponents in their prime, and of course can’t be in their prime for all the fights either, hence staining it that way also. It’s so hard to make fights at all in boxing. The top guys fight maybe once or twice at most a year. Everyone is different ages also, and have latest wins, losses, titles, that have to be considered. So many people said Floyd wouldn’t fight Manny, and would lose if he did. They did fight and it was the biggest fight ever. So all the “Prime” haters can shut up. This boxing, we are happy just to get a lot of fights, even if they are past when we wished they would happen. That’s the precedent of boxing. If someone had a real issue with the timing of the fight they could have boycotted it, but we know they didn’t. Plus we know they picked Manny to win regardless so they can shut up.
