    SMH...

Over the past two years, there's been a lot of uncertainty amongst fans and media alike regarding the events surrounding the negotiations for the mega-fight between pound-for-pound champions Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. In an effort to clear up the confusion, FightHype.com has put together an in-depth timeline detailing every major milestone that took place. From the moment that Floyd Mayweather came out of retirement to the minute that Manny Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum declared the fight to be off, all of the major events that dominated the headlines are included. Only the facts are included in this definitive timeline. Links to mulitple outside references have been included for each date, so fans can draw their own conclusions as to what went wrong at each step of the way.

Mayweather doesn't have to report to jail until June 1, and is free to fight May 5 as planned, but Pacquiao's promoter said his man isn't available.

And there's more, but this basically explains through to 2014.
Check out this interview in 2009.
Maybe it's me, but it seems like Floyd is coming up with a few reasons not to fight Pac.

Kudos to Floyd though, he did face him 6 years later.

I think Floyd and Manny both had good enough careers where they can both stand alone. They don’t need to be connected to each other to be remembered.

Of course, whenever someone’s says Floyd, they will say Manny and whenever someone says Manny, they will say Floyd, but it isn’t just the rivalry that will be remembered.

Didn't watch it, and for one very good reason...this is from May 2009.

That means you are offering this one video as a rebuttal to EVERYTHING that happened almost 6 years afterwards.

You don't see the problem with that?

I should ignore Manny not wanting to do random blood testing from Dec 2009 til almost 4 years later in Nov 2013?

I should ignore the fact Floyd went to court to delay serving his sentence til June 2012, clearing the way for a May 2012 showdown, only to have Arum claim Manny's cut from Nov 2011 would not heal in time or that an outdoor stadium couldn't be built in time for a May 2012 fight?

I should ignore Manny telling a fan at a promotion before he fought Mosley in 2011 that he wont do random testing and the fan should just "believe him" instead?

And there's literally much more than that in those threads I posted, all of them with links to sources.

        And what do YOU do?

Post a video that's completely irrelevant to what happened and say "it seems" like Floyd doesn't want to fight.

You're acting exactly like the type of non-fan I referred to earlier.

Edit: Had to come back after I watched. First, I remember this now. Brian Kinney with a poor attempt at "gotcha journalism" that didn't quite go how Brian thought it would.

And worse, this hasn't aged well.

Floyd makes great points about how critics are complaining about him being too big for Marquez yet the same critics want him to fight Pac...who is the same size as JMM and had already caught hell from Marquez twice at this point.

Further, he exposes the hypocrisy of folks being more impressed with Manny beating a weight drained and washed up DLH than him defeating Oscar at his proper weight.

There's also the irony of Kinney implying Floyd is avoiding Manny and Shane Mosley when we know what happened after- Floyd tried to fight Pac and Pac declined over random blood testing. And instead...circumstances turned out with Floyd fighting Mosley after Marquez.

This video not only DOESN'T support your claim that Floyd didn't want to fight Manny...in retrospect, it makes Floyd look BETTER.

So, you didn't even bother to actually click in the links, huh?

Cause if you had, you would have seen that although the timeline is done by a FightHype reporter, the sources are many and varied.

Ring magazine, ESPN, this site, PhilStar, and more.

Everything is sourced. Everything is facts.
