great fighter alrite but u could easily argue jacobs did better against a common opponent in ggg! canelo also got beat by ggg (1st imo of course) and maybe just inched the second fight, thats very good going but not dominating and ggg's no spring chicken either, jacobs, canelo and ggg very close overall

Feeling like **** cuz Reynoso about to steal his seat as greatest mexican trainer and Canelo is way more popular than Juan Manuel... even with the Pacquiao KO to his name.
Nacho never won the BWAA Trainer of the Year award, even though he probably should have.

Perhaps that is where the jealousy stems from.

I think Canelo is one of the best, and very tough. I think Oscar, Golden Boy promotions, are trying to lessen the risk. Canelo isn't scared I'm sure, but they chose Kovalev, not Beterbiev or Bivol, for a reason. They are not keen on him taking on Andrade and Charlo, even though he would be favoured to beat them. Is protecting the golden goose now. Once Floyd had big wins, as great as he was, he too was very careful in selecting the opposition.

As if you know what Nacho bet. Why lie? A brilliant boxing mind like his knows full well that Canelo was too green. That bet would have been moronic and completely uncharacteristic of him.

wasn’t green, was weight deprived. Ask Floyd, he knows what 2lbs does.. he did it against Nacho’s boy, Marquez

The entire world knew Canelo was two or three fights shy of being ready. I remember it pretty vividly. Not even debatable.

I would argue you are both correct. Canelo was too green but what did he care it was a win/win for him. Look at where he is now. I would also agree that the 2 extra pounds he forced Canelo to drop is what sealed Canelo's deal. Not that he ever had a chance to beat Floyd but those 2 extra pounds for a kid who is already struggling to make 154 is brutal.

Before the weight became an obvious issue everyone was saying that Canelo was too green. We aren’t both right because the groupie over there is pretending only the weight played a factor.

This is where you inject the politics of boxing and the power of the
A-side. Jacobs came in anywhere from 175-185 on fight night. That is a huge advantage for him over Ggg. Jacobs against Canelo was not that big of a difference since both fighters were closer to each other in weight. Jacobs landed some good clean shots on Ggg much cleaner than what he did to Canelo. Canelo showed better defense against Jacobs while Ggg did score a knock down.

I have a cousin who loved Floyd's style, not because of how dominant or skilled he was. The only reason why he loved Floyd's style and would have preferred his if he boxed to any other in history is simple. Floyd rarely got it and in the end if you have made all that money and can spend the next 30-40 years with relative good health and spend it then you have really won. Look at Ali. Look at all the other boxers from the past who have had brain/mental issues from the repeated beatings. Look at football players that have committed suicide etc.

Canelo is starting to master this and I would much prefer his career to Ggg's. Ggg may have looked better against Jacobs but he also took some punishment that hopefully does not come back to haunt him.

Who are the so called best that he is not fighting? Demetrius Andrade? Is that it, is that what all this criticism is about?
This is what I do not understand about all these other boxers so called calling out Canelo. If they are so confident they can beat him or look good against him, why is the money that big of an issue? He is already giving them their biggest payday and they want more?

This tells me a couple of things. 1. they are afraid of losing and think that they will most likely lose which will hurt their reputation and stock for future fights. 2. They are full of it and just want an excuse to save face. 3. They really do think they are worth more money even though their career says otherwise.
